Civelli Eyeing Return
Civelli Eyeing Return
Monday, 7th Sep 2009 16:26

Injured midfielder Luciano Civelli has set himself a target of a return to playing football before Christmas. The Argentinian has been out of action since damaging knee ligaments in the home game with Burnley back in March.

The 22-year-old told the club site: "I am running every day and feel happy with the progress I am making.

“I am seeing the specialist soon and hopefully he will say that my knee is fine to start doing exercises with the ball and increase my running to a quicker pace.

"I feel I am improving all the time. In two months I hope to be training with my team-mates. That is the target for me. After that, I want to be back playing football again before Christmas."

Civelli says he immediately knew his problem was serious: "I knew it was a bad injury when I went down. I have never had a feeling in my knee like that before.

"The first month or so was hard, but I have always remained positive and now I can look forward to playing again as quickly as possible."

Civelli made eight appearances for the Blues last season after signing from Banfield in his home country for a fee of around £1.1 million.

Fantastic news. Left back or left midfield, lovely to have injury cover in two positions. Dont rush it Luciano but hurry up.

Stop squabbling children and back the boys.

Wish Luc a speedy recovery as he has been through professional hell in a foreign country.

Dan Knott must support the green and yellows in the division below us.

Hopefully geo's new g/f likes the weather in ipswich.
Seriously though, the only chance of us seeing him at p/r again is playing against us. He's not coming back :-(.

Danknott you dingbat. Y would you come onto a fans website as a fan and start an argument with all the other fans?
Also, noticed how u refered to everyone else as boy's. I think your target audience has become pretty clear.

8 game player lets judge him after 10-15 games. Trouble with most town supporters is any name not playing in the team at the moment seems to bring us promotion.

In what way is Civelli a senior player?

He's 22 years old and has been here less than 12 months.
