Wednesday, 14th Oct 2009 21:51

Gareth McAuley, Tamás Priskin and Carlos Edwards all won international caps as their national sides ended their World Cup campaigns.

McAuley won his 20th Northern Ireland cap as his side drew 0-0 with the Czech Republic, Priskin picked up his 23rd cap as Hungary won 1-0 in Denmark, coming on as a last minute substitute, while Edwards made his 78th appearance for Trinidad and Tobago as they drew 2-2 at home to Mexico.

None of Northern Ireland, Hungary or Trinidad and Tobago qualified for the finals or reached the play-offs.

New loan signing Asmir Begovic wasn't in the Bosnia squad which lost 5-2 at home to Spain as he was completing his move to the Blues. Despite the defeat, Bosnia finished second in their group and are in the play-offs for a place at the finals.

Guess Priskin's form with Town didnt impress the national manager much, still, he gets to see the world i suppose. Time may have been better spent here with Keano's dog guiding him around the pitch.Bloody hope he gets his arse into gear soon ,cos THIS TOWN,IS COMING LIKE A GHOST TOWN .!
