Rosenior: Town and Reading Can Both Progress
Rosenior: Town and Reading Can Both Progress
Thursday, 5th Nov 2009 18:43

Loanee full-back Liam Rosenior says Town and Reading are the sides towards the bottom of the table with the best chance of making significant progress up the division this season. The 25-year-old is on a season-long loan at Portman Road from the Berkshire club and plays in Saturday's clash between the two teams.

Rosenior told the club site that there is no doubt where his allegiance now lies despite him having no ill feelings towards the Royals: "I'm an Ipswich player and as soon as I put on the shirt, there is no other club I'm thinking about.

"It won't be any more special for me on Saturday. It's another game that we need to win to move up the table.

"Reading is a great club work for. There's a lot of nice people there and they have great support and I'm thankful for the opportunity they gave me.

"It didn't quite work out for me as an individual there and as a team as well with relegation from the Premier League and then not bouncing back at the first attempt, but football can be like that.

"They have changed their team around a lot because of the finances and budget they have there and a lot of players have left since the end of last season.

"They have a good, young manager though, and good young players and when you look at the bottom half of the table I think it's Reading and ourselves that have the best chance of putting a good run together over the second half of the season.

"Burnley and Hull have shown over the last two years what can be achieved over the second stage and our aim has to be to get in the top 10 by the new year and then really kick on."

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have reminded supporters that Town’s game at Selhurst Park on Boxing Day is a 1pm kick-off.

Really like this guys attitude, hope we sign him at the end of the season. Applauding the fans after derby was a nice touch and pledging his allegence makes him a winner in my books.

So he's a permanent signing in January then.

This was proved at the derby game at the end, and duffers i think his contract is up in the summer so we can get him on a free

Really hope he stays long term, certainly has the potential to be a premiership-quality wing back.

One of our best performing players over the past few weeks.

Whilst I'm no here, strange question but answer would be handy. Got a ticket for saturday but since buying it, in the last few days I've broken my leg. I'm not in a full cast, one of those stupid moon boots. Can walk fine on it with crutches. Think I'll be alright to just go to the game with the ticket I already have or should I switch it to some sort of disabled ticket?

Very stupid question I know, but you never know one of you may know the answer! Bring on all the stupid answers as well!

Yup, I think he's fantastic. Especially his partnership with Edwards. He's brilliant and I really, really hope we do get him permanently.

It's important you follow adamisablue advice as there are safety implications that the club have to consider ie: how to get you out in event of evacuation. Sorry for sounding a jobsworth, but I'm a stewarding assessor, and this is something we cover in great detail. Best of luck

Duffers - only if we can keep hold of him mate - he did say he only wanted to come on loan at the start so he could see where we are at the end of the season. Clearly one of our best players - I just hope we can keep hold of him.

Our best chance is if he falls in love with the club - and we start moving up the table!
