Trialist Returns Home

Trinidadian international striker or winger Kerry Baptiste has returned home after his trial with the Blues. The 28-year-old spent a week with Town trying to win a contract at Portman Road alongside his international team-mate Carlos Edwards.

Reports in the Caribbean over the weekend claimed that Baptiste, who currently plays for Joe Public in his home country, had been asked to stay for an extra four days but that hasn't been the case and the former San Juan Jabloteh and the North East Stars player has returned home after a week as initially planned.

I'll admit I was hopeful on this one, but it is a big ask to step up from a much lower level at his age. Spring is always a strange time for transfers, with both managers and players having an eye on next season...

I sense a big shake up is on the cards for the summer...

I think im right in saying we couldn't sign him yet anyway so it doesnt necessarily mean he has been rejected. Maybe he will be invited back / signed in the summer....who knows.

Trial ends; he goes home. I don't think this proves anything one way or another. Good luck to him.
