Norris a Doubt But Healy Could Be Back Thursday, 17th Mar 2011 10:04
Skipper David Norris is a doubt ahead of Saturday’s home game against Scunthorpe due to the ankle injury he suffered at Barnsley prior to his recent two-game ban. Better news for boss Paul Jewell is that midfielder Colin Healy is expected to return from his torn stomach muscle.
Jewell says Norris, missing for two games having amassed 10 yellow cards, will be assessed prior to Saturday: “Chuck only trained yesterday. Although he’s been out suspended, his injury was quite a nasty one and I think he was feeling that when he made the tackle that got him booked against Reading.
“He’s been training with the physio and did the warm-up yesterday and we’ll see how he is later when we get to the training ground.
“When he got injured at Barnsley he got quite a nasty injury. He’s come back, which is typical of Chuck, and the ankle’s just hurt him at the end of the Reading game. If he hadn’t have been suspended, he wouldn’t have been fit anyway.”
The Blues boss says Colin Healy may be available after missing the last five matches: “He might well be in the squad this weekend Colin, he’s been training in the last couple of days, so hopefully he’ll be fit.”
Jewell says there were no new injuries from Tuesday’s game against Watford: “The players were in yesterday, there were a few broken hearts but everyone’s OK.”

Funnily enough, I think we have missed Healy! Wouldn't have thought I would be saying that based on last season - but he defends and gets forward. Hope he is back for Saturday. Personally, I wasn't impressed with Drury - despite some good touches - he looks a little off the pace - which is to be expected.

Expect the 10k a week will help thier broken hearts, expect the 17000 who paid to watch are broken hearted too, but the £300 a week they earn will help thier broken hearts too

So Norris did get himself booked deliberately then!! well, if you know you're not going to make the next match, why not!!!

So Norris "earned" his 10th yellow to see out a suspension whilst knowing he was injured and likely to miss a few games anyhow!

Missed Healy! He should go back straight in to team! The dyer should come on and replace him in the later stages of the game

We are in 'Dyer' need of someone who can play well in midfield as it showed on Tuesday we didn't have too much in that department... Healy in that central role could improve it or Luke Hyam is worth a punt as he showed earlier in the season he's not fazed and gets stuck in

Turning out to be a bit of aliability is Norris, isnt he! Either out injured for daft lengths of time , or out cos he's banned. .....Bye bye "Chuck", (off to Pompey you go), a every expensive player considering Town's return on this investmant!

RetroBlue, but we get a lot more points when he's playing than when he's not.

Retroblue:- Norris a liability, think that's a bit harsh. If he got himself sent off knowing he wouldn't play the next games anyway and knowing a two game ban then ' clears the slate ', then I think that's quite shrewed [ whether or not its very sportsman like is up for debate ]. For me, that's a bit of experience ! Fatboy:- I'm with you !

Also Retroblue, please check his goal tally against Priskin's !

Missed the energy of both Healy and Norris last 2 home games. Ps. I know Norris played against reading but he wasn't fully fit.

Ok , maybe I was a bit harsh on him. However, he appears to more absent than present (yes he's influencial when he does play), but can we afford too many midfield crocks (Bullard, Dyer, Norris, Healy)? Maybe Norris' style of play , makes him more prone to injury? If you were Clegg/ Jewell and had a limited budget for next season, who would you want to keep. A tough one as just about every single one of those MF's are past 30 yrs!

think fully fit he is an excellent member of team, unfortunately he fixes quickly and often comes back too sooon so has a few off games whilst getting back to fitness, would be better to take extra game or two out. hope he takes him time this tiem around and comes back 100% fit,but my betting is he will start saturday... but not firing on all cylinders which doesnt work.

RetroBlue - bit harsh re Norris! He's played in over 30 games this season. Yes he's had a couple of injuries/suspensions this season, but he has been one of our better performers and one of our top scorers (from midfield). The midfield misses his energy when he isn't there and I think its a bit early to be discarding him.

Norris was playing his best football & scoring goals before he got injured. We should all wish for the return of a fully fit Norris, & all the talk about him being a liability is just rubbish.

Agree we have missed Healy more than most real supporters realise. Some of the coments regarding Norris are a bit harsh as he always gives 100% but sometimes think he runs around like a headless chicken.
