Lambe Joins Bristol Rovers Thursday, 24th Mar 2011 16:23
Bermudian international winger Reggie Lambe has joined League One Bristol Rovers on loan for the rest of the season. Second-year professional Lambe is amongst the legion of players out of contract at the end of the season.
Rovers caretaker-manager Stuart Campbell says he is delighted to sign the 20-year-old: "He is a right-sided midfielder who is an exciting prospect.
"He has played a couple of times for Ipswich's first team, as well as representing his country nine times.
"He is very quick and I am looking forward to working with him. He goes straight into the squad for tomorrow night's game [at Peterborough].
"I am sure the supporters will be excited by his talent and give him a warm welcome."
Town boss Paul Jewell has been looking to get his first and second-year pros out on loan for the remaining weeks of the season.

Can't see there is any way on earth he will be around next season, just not good enough I'm afraid.

Cox is coming in BL and Lambe is nowhere near good enough, well in the few ressies games I've seen he's looked way out of his depth anyway.

Don't really know enough about Lambe. Can only assume he is being put in the shop window - as doubt PJ will decide whether he's worth a new contract based on division one football/not seeing him play! Good move for the player though.

Good move for him i think. Not getting games here and needs to think about his own future. Can help keep Rovers up and get himself a contract at a decent League 1 club. Look at players like Scott Barron, gotta move on sometimes to make a good career for yourself. Good luck to him.

I saw him play at Middlesbrough on the first day of the season and he was decent and then at Millwall in the Carling Cup and he wasn't as good but I wish PJ would start playing our youngsters at Ipswich now we aren't fighting for anything. I would rather have Lambe in than Civelli after what I've seen since he's been back. One positive of the RK era was that he played the youngsters like Murray, Eastman, Lambe, Smith, Hyam and Brown.

Good chance for RL to get some experience. Always had high hopes for him and he hasn't let anybody down when he has played and scored a fair few goals for the reserves. Hope PJ keeps him on in the summer as he could be a very useful player next season (and probably cheaper than finding a replacement?)

i can see us offering lowish value contracts to a bunch of these lads next season just as squad players, then putting them out on loan if they accept the terms. the sort of contracts which a league one club could afford if we loaned them anyway, not anything like the Lisbie deal etc! if they decide to move on at least we get a fee then as well......

We should cut our losses and get rid of all the dead wood instead of offering them 'lowish value contracts' Start again with players who are good enough to wear the shirt not those who may or may not fit the bill.

We should cut our losses and get rid of all the dead wood instead of offering them 'lowish value contracts' i sort of agree, that said, ideally we need 22 solid player, 2 in each position, and maybe 8 or so 'others' who i dont think these boys are a bad bet for, to get rid of them all without some sort of cover could leave us short......

He could make a name for himself if he steers them away from league 1 relegation.
