![]() Tuesday, 12th Jul 2011 12:16 Town and Tranmere are still negotiating a compensation package for left-back Aaron Cresswell, who joined the Blues on a Bosman earlier in the month. As the 21-year-old Liverpudlian is under 24, Rovers are entitled to compensation for developing him through their youth system. If an agreement can’t be reached, the matter will go to a tribunal, something that Tranmere boss Les Parry says both sides want to avoid: “Neither club wants it to go to a tribunal so we are still talking.” The League One side are understood to have already turned down at least two Town compensation offers. Cresswell is set to make his first appearance for the Blues today in this afternoon’s friendly against FC Eindhoven in Holland (KO 3.30pm local time). Elsewhere, former Blue Darren Currie could potentially face his old club in another of this summer’s pre-season friendlies. Currie, now 36, is on trial with Southend, who Town take on at Roots Hall on Friday 22nd July (KO 7.45pm).
