TWTD's Phil on New Radio Suffolk Show
TWTD's Phil on New Radio Suffolk Show
Monday, 1st Aug 2011 15:02

TWTD’s Phil Ham will be amongst the regular guests on Radio Suffolk’s new Saturday lunchtime sports show Life’s a Pitch, which starts this weekend (midday to 2pm). Presented by Mark Murphy, the show also features Blues legend Kevin Beattie and football’s youngest pundit Tractorboy.

Sir Bobby Robson Stand season ticket holder Mark says he is looking for supporters to give their thoughts on the Town issues of the day and also to appear in person to Meet the Beat: "I want the show to be for the fans and I'm keen to get as many involved as possible.

"It's going to be great linking up with the Beat again, I never get tired of hearing his stories of the good old days, no matter how often I hear them!"

If you'd like to contact Mark with your thoughts ahead of Saturday’s big kick-off, you can email him at mark.murphy@bbc.co.uk.

Phil will appear by phone ahead of Town's away games.

Beattie on the radio ??

That's me not listening then !!

If there's a man who should never be allowed near a microphone then it's him with his "I agree with ya 100% mate", and "without a doubt", uttered at least twice every 30 seconds !!

It's why me and the missus listen to five live on the way home from a game if he's on !!!

He may be a footballing legend, but he's a radio muppet !!!

Go for it Phil! Can you persuade them to drop the prices at PR and BRING BACK THE CROWDS? I know our neighbours up the road are bigger (i.e. population-wise) than we are, but they have recently put our support to shame. [Here I exclude the great ITFC away support, which has certainly been up to standard - at least whenever I've been there myself to pass an opinion.] We used to be top 3 or 4 in the Championship crowd-wise. Now I doubt we're much over middle way.

I'm sure Mark Murphy will no doubt be talking about his favourite three subjects.

Me, myself, and I.

He is annoying though.

Think he lives next door or near Mark Murphy which I think explains a lot.

he is a young boy who has a massive passion for football, knows more than many (which is why he probably comes across as annoying, bit of a threat no doubt) and wants to be a journalist when he leaves school, was offered the chance to work for the BBC aged eight years old as they spotted his talent.......and for the record when you meet the Beat he is an incredibly nice bloke, has incredible passion for the game and is a bit of a yes man but that is part of his charm, he likes to please others.........

Can't believe that people would have a go at Beattie and a young lad who have so much passion about ITFC. Having heard plenty of the callers on Radio Suffolk, don't think that the Beat has much to work with...

Would have preferred Mark Matthews to present it as he is funny and sarcastic and does not seem to be his own biggest fan as Mark Murphy does. I hope it follows the same format as Naked Football Show as I enjoy that format and I hope that too will continue. As for tractor boy, he is only 11 but is brave enough to go on live radio which I at nearly 40 would be scared to do and I'm sure many of the keyboard warriors on here who will slag him off would not have done that at his tender age. Some may find him annoying but good on him for putting himself in the position to be shot at by people.
I just hope Mark Murphy doesn't big him up too much and start telling listeners to bet on his score predictions or something stupid like that as that may turn people off him which would be a shame.
I hope to listen Saturday to see how the show goes

Mark Murphy likes the sound of his own voice way too much for me!

I'll give it a go but Mark Matthews would have been so much better for this.
