Blackburn Linked With Move for Loach
Blackburn Linked With Move for Loach
Wednesday, 18th Jul 2012 13:26

Blackburn Rovers are reported to have made an enquiry to Watford regarding Town target Scott Loach. The Blues have agreed a fee with the Hornets for the 24-year-old keeper and have been given permission to speak to the former England U21 international.

Town’s move for the ex-Blues academy schoolboy is said to have alerted Rovers, who will be at Portman Road on the opening day of the Championship season, who may now make an offer for the 6ft 4in tall keeper.

Speaking last night before news of the offer being accepted breaking, boss Paul Jewell was hopeful that the Blues’ move for a keeper was close to being completed: “The one we’re going for, we’re quite a long way down the line with that one. I don’t really comment on speculation but we’re hoping to tie the goalkeeping one up pretty soon.

“We’ve been chasing a goalkeeper for a while and we’re hoping it’s going to happen in the next few days.”

He added: “I don’t want to sound too confident as we’ve been down this route before, but we’re hopeful of getting the one that we want.”

Loach, a boyhood Town fan, has expressed his delight at his impending move on Twitter: "So buzzing right now. Hopefully more will become clear soon."

Later he commented: "This could be a dream come true! ‪#likeakidatxmas."

Town are still to agree personal terms with Nottingham-born Loach, who was at Playford Road between 1997 and 2000, while Watford may want to have secured another keeper before allowing him to move on.

Tottenham's Carlo Cudicini and ex-Arsenal man Manuel Almunia are believed to be Gianfranco Zola's targets.

Loachy is a blue.....keep the faith!

Blackburn are a train wreck I'd rather steer clear of. Can't see him going there.

Many thanks too TWTD causes frustration n anger amongst town fans this is yet another story putting 2 n 2 together & making 7 so annoying: S.Loach is definitely signing from what I was told this morning possibly being announced before the weekend

Non-story really. Would we want a player no other club is interested in? Offer agreed, personal contract being negotiated. Even if Blackburn try to gazump the deal Ipswich will have the chance to match the offer. As the player has made it clear he wants to join us for reasons stated frequently on other posts...

He is in Ipswich at the moment, I saw him driving down Portman Road earlier (his window was wound down).

I'm still fuming that Clegg let Luke Chambers go to Derby.

Disgrace.

The Blackburn link is a complete non starter. More reported link rubbish. Loach will be signing tomorrow and unveiled at 14.30. i bet my sandwich on it. Heard all this nonsense with Chambers.

To be honest I'd rather see Kello at the club but think this story is a nonsense as he is deffo coming to Portman Road.

All those saying Clegg Out are mad. This is just a tabloid story guys ... don't believe every little story that you hear!

Rather depends on what 'accepted' means in the context of football transferspeak.

Probably about as meaningless as all other English appears to be, when used in this context...

Unless he is a big fan of sitting on the bench eating free chicken pies... I think he will join us.

This is similar to what happened with Chambers 1 day he is going too sign then next day do another article questioning whether the deal wa going too full though: now loach 1 day looks good in the club signing him then next day do a article making town fans question the club Clegg n Jewell again: TWTD does alot of v good thing superb written match reports great blogs n things happening in the community n the club but it's let's it self down by reacting too other media n some really poor links with players we have never targeted like Marney, Jacob's, J.Lewis etc:

As long as we don't make him an insulting offer, Blackburn don't stand a chance. He's been after this move for a long time now.

Sign him up! Get Kello on a free. then i think we are in safe hands in the goalkeeping department. (excuse the pun)

Well,it's a no brainer for me..if I was a town fan (which I am!)..then i'd walk over hot coals to play for us..money shouldn't even be an issue here.

Although English is obviously not your first language Bluey, I think we get the gist..

You could simply avoid the site. Why read and comment on these stories if they're so bad?
