Town Confirm Delaney Exit
Thursday, 30th Aug 2012 15:02

Town have confirmed that central defender Damien Delaney has left the Blues by mutual consent, as revealed by TWTD earlier this afternoon. The 31-year-old is now able to find another club either before Friday's deadline or as a free agent once it has closed.

Delaney told the club site: "I have enjoyed my time at Ipswich but it seems the right time to move on.

“I have been here three and a half years now and am probably the longest serving player at the club, but not being in the side made me think about my future and like I said, it’s time for a change. I’d like to wish the club the best of luck for the future.”

Blues manager Paul Jewell added: “Damien has been a good servant to the football club and we thank him for that and wish him every success.”

Frankly, I feel really sorry now for PJ. Truthfully, he wasn't my choice, and frankly probably still isn't. But what can we expect the bloke to do, if that muppet Clegg and Mr Anonymous won't back him?

This club deserves to have PJ walk away - it has become a heartless, characterless shadow of its former self!!!

..... well after the last two plus years of this lot - we should without doubt know how NOT to run a Football Club.

Once a proud Club of fine standing, Nationally and Internationally, now a joke everywhere within the game.

Playing a dangerous game here. What if we don't get another CB in before tomorrow?
It will leave us with two CB? What if Chambers get's injured, smith? I can't see us getting St Ledger he has been playing a bit more since we we're last linked and Leicster are light years ahead of us. This week has been the lowest of the low especially of the pitch. Failure to get any players on a permenant deal tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised if there is only 16,000 on Saturday? I bet scum are loving this right now.

The timing seems a little bizarre, surely you should secure a replacement before releasing an experienced player?....... However, I think this is actually a good decision, he's never convinced over a period of time, & if it frees up some wages for some fresh blood, thats got to be good!!

DD not the best CB but this is absolutely unforgiveable if we do not get a replacement in by the close of transfer window tomorrow.
