Town Confirm Ellington's Scunthorpe Move
Friday, 16th Nov 2012 13:36

Town have confirmed that striker Nathan Ellington has joined League One Scunthorpe on loan, as revealed by TWTD yesterday.

The 31-year-old, who has made two sub appearances for the Blues this season, has joined the Iron until January 5th.

Ellington is contracted to Town until next summer having joined the Blues after being released by Watford in the summer of 2011.

Since then the Bradford-born striker has made only three starts for Town — just one in the league — in addition to 16 sub appearances.

Ellington is in the Scunthorpe squad for Saturday's home game with Notts County, coincidentally a club he came close to joining in the summer.

I would be more than happy for him not to return as he was never going to be part of our future rebuild under McCarthy. I suspect he has found his correct level now.

Sad it didn't work well here. Dropping down a division could kick start his career. I'm sure he really wants to play and I haven't heard anything to suggest he wasn't a decent bloke. Never had a chance in the first team and at reserve level has had mixed form - on occasion he earnt a place on the bench. Good luck, Duke.

Interesting to see what happens IF he scores a load of goals for the Iron

Best of luck. As far as i'm aware never heard of him moaning. Respect is the least anyone deserves. He deserves that at least.

The poor chap never got a look in with Jewell playing one up front.
This guy has been a good striker in the past.
He need to drop down leagues a bit and i think he will score goals at a lower level.
Did not quite work out for town but good luck with your future duke.

Good luck Duke. Didn't really get a chance here and not sure why Jewell offered you a contract in the first place. To be fair, at least you didn't make any ridiculous claims you would score 30 goals a season - would be interesting to see what your strike rate would have been if you had as many games as Chopra.

Worst striker never to play for Ipswich. No goals in 18 months, what a joke-- must be a record. Wonder what his wage bill came to.
