Betting Back at Portman Road
Monday, 31st Dec 2012 09:19

TWTD understands that matchday betting will return to Portman Road’s concourses in the new year. The contract with Clacton-based bookmaker Bobby Swift wasn’t renewed at the start of the season.

We understand that their replacement will be The Betting Room, who currently provide stadium betting at Portsmouth, Southampton, Millwall, Bournemouth and Charlton.

The new arrangement is expected to be in place for the Barnsley game on Saturday 19th January.

If their odds are as terrible as Bobby Swift's were, they might as well not bother. The club have cocked this one up good and proper, I have the feeling Bobby Swift came in on a better deal for Town, but tried to simply pass the pain onto the customers and took much less business as a result. The fact that we've not had a bookies in the ground for 5 months of the season now is a right balls up. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
