I really like him. He has obviously flaws in his game but he is always fully committed and certainly recently has been holding his own in the team. When on form he is a decent player and at the moment the closest thing we have to a creative midfielder at the club.

If the season was ending now I would say give him a year extension, but obviously we should wait to see what happens during the rest of the season.

Good option to have on the bench if nothing else.

I agree,sign him up,i think he is a good player some people say he is not good enough but i think they have never seen him play he is a hard worker good passer good quality from dead balls etc and is a physical presence,the only think he needs to add is a few goals but maybe he is told not to get too far forward?just because he came from non league people think he is crap.i remember we paid 2 mill for leadbitter and he was lazy didnt try couldnt pass and did anyone see him try to take a corner?quiet as a mouse and was a little weed!!or and simon milton came from non league and he was ok wasn't he?

AD's attitude (well what we see in public and on the pitch) has always been spot on.

He's my kind of player. Works his socks off and is prepared to work harder for a new contract.
My feeling is that MM has identified AD's working class ethos and it's the same as MM.

AD will put to shame many other plaers with his effort and work ethic alone.

He isn't a goal getter or a 50 yard passer but whst he does is protect the back 4 with N'Daw very well especially in away games. Think he's worth keeping as a decent squad player!

Definitely room for him in a squad of 20 or so but doubt that MM will be looking at him as a long term first choice. Good attitude, capable and cheap. Perfect squad player.

Looks like we will lose him just as we did with Norris, Mcauley, Leadbitter. Sigh, we may have a goid manager but simon.clegg will never change!

The only thing he lacks is pace. Always plays to feet, can tackle, can pass, always available to feet too. He's a good player, I'd like to see him stay.

Fully agree with dirtyboy. Very underrated player who always gives his best for the club. Definitely deserves a new contract.

Have to disagree with Garv on this one.
Hes just ordinary, average and not good enough for us. A good league 1 player yes, but too slow and sloppy to play for us.
Creative, alright, he can spot a run or two, but creative? Naah, the way N'daw's been picking out runs and passes the last month has been amazing.
Drury can leave, we need better players to use as backup if we get an injury.
Really liked his effort, but quality-wise, he wont get us to the Prem, will he?

As he has been one of our better players for the PJ era (says alot really) I wanna applaud his work effort, attitude (on and off the pitch) and his desire to play for us..
I feel both parts should move on now though

creative?!? committed?!? I'm not one to normally dismiss another's opinion but this is ridiculous! his passing is poor and I can't think of a single creative ball he has played. commitment is a word people always associate with players that are not good enough, I have witnessed Drury repeatedly behind the play and not making any effort to get back. no offence to the bloke but if we really want to be in the premiership we need to move him on

On the money he gets we won't find better at the same money I doubt so can see him being a squad player. Anyone who thinks were having a squad of twenty five all on 10k a week is deluded and needs to learn basic mathematics. We have to get used to having four or five of this type of player under the new financial rules. . . . .

Its a no brainer we re-sign him, he's been a excellent and, considering the millions we have spent on crap, the fact he only cost £100k from Luton only emphasises that.

People should get off his back, my only criticism of him is he needs to score more goals but you could say that about the whole midfield especially as were about to lose our top striker.

I am one of those old codgers who remembers the halcyon years of the 70s etc. Our best teams included the likes of Brian Talbot, Mick Lambert and Roger Osborne .... all, with the greatest respect were never the "stars" when compared to the likes of Mariner, Beattie, Muhren et al., however, their strengths and work rates were very important additions to the team (note it is still a team game) and had Osborne not played at Wembleym well we may still be awaiting our first FA Cup win.

Whether Drury stay or goes (and yes, he can be replaced) remember, the so called "journeymen" players are always worth their salaries at any club.

I recall it was the relatively surprising pairing of Drury and Hyam that turned round last season. Jewell had banked on the mix of 30-somethings and Leadbitter in midfield that had got us into such a mess, and he suddenly changed tack, put his faith in Andy and Luke to give stability and legs in the centre of the park, and we went from strength to strength.

Like others have commented, Drury gives a full shift, and gets on with the job. He may not be the best player in the team, but for me he is reliable and is committed. At times we've lacked that from others in the starting XI, and I would be happy to see him get another year out of Mick.

Those of you who are slagging Andy Drury off should give yourselves a slap. Apart from being a good player at this level he is decent bloke who made the break through to league football at a relatively late age and gives a good account of himself everytime I have seen him. He cost very little and I bet he's not on anything like the amount of money some of the so called more gifted players who have pulled on a town shirt in the last couple of years. He wants to be here and in my view Clegg and co should be doing the decent thing and getting him and others sorted out now not buggering around like they have previously. I would rather have Drury in the team any day unlike your Chopras and JETS who cost the club a fortune then slagg the fans or stroll about like he is Messi
