Batth Time for Town?
Friday, 4th Jan 2013 15:31

Young central defender Danny Batth is the latest Wolves player reported to be interesting the Blues. The Midlanders are said to be keen to send the 22-year-old out on loan to gain experience with Town, Millwall and Bristol City all apparently keen to take up the opportunity.

Brierley Hill-born Batth, who has previously spent loan spells with Colchester, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday, will be well-known to Blues boss Mick McCarthy having come through the ranks at Molineux.

The 6ft 3in tall defender, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has made three starts (all in the League Cup) and three sub appearances, scoring once for his parent club, but has made more than 70 senior appearances for his loan sides.

With the signings of Patrick Kisnorbo, Aaron Mclean and David McGoldrick taking Town’s domestic loan total back to five — the number permitted in a matchday squad — the Blues would seem unlikely to sign anyone else on a similar basis at present.

Keeper Stephen Henderson’s spell is up after the Cardiff game and right-back Bradley Orr’s comes to an end on January 26th.

Meanwhile, the Blues, Leicester City, Middlesbrough and Peterborough are all said to be monitoring Colchester midfielder Anthony Wordsworth.

The 23-year-old was in action for the U's against Coventry in the game manager Mick McCarthy and assistant Terry Connor watched in November.

Please slow down with signings every 10 minutes. I only just remember the side who played Brighton..... Next game I won't recognise a single player if this continues.

At last the Management seem to have a sense of direction.

this is one I would actually like to see coming from Wolves. Good age, good experience in the lower leagues and would be good value, with his contract coming up. Wordsworth no thanks, live in Colchester and see them a fair bit and he is a Lazy sod!

On another page I got told off for complaining about too many loans. Glad there are those that can see my point.

Perhaps Batth can plug the occasional leaks at the back?

If we sign Batth, does that mean we will once again have to TAP into the loans market?

Honestly with all these bath time jokes, you're plumbing the depths! What a right shower you are. You won't catch me trying to lather up any enthusiasm with such terrible gags.

Don't mean to be a killjoy but if he's that good why are struggling Wolves letting him leave and haven't offered a new deal yet?

.... we almost signed him on New Years day apparently... yes that's right, Mick was going for an early Batth! But perhaps he has thought better of splashing the cash?

I think same road that Jewell went down with all Micks loans so far but more quality players this time and at least we have them till the end of the season
But can we spend some money now and buy some players for a change
All these loan players belong to other clubs and we just get to like them like Campbell for instance and off they go back to their clubs again
I suppose Henderson and Orr will go back in the next few weeks and its all very sad watching them play well for us and off they go back never to be seen in a town shirt again.
Come on Town buy some players we can call our own start with making a offer for Batth and splash the cash before that one goes down the plug hole
If we sign him we could sing the Hammers song to him.
The blowing bubbles song or splish splash we have got Danny Batth who is a very clean player who smells nice but he is not to flash.

Remember Barth when he first went to Colchester he was only 18 and looked quality as for Wandsworth agree he can look lazy sometimes but is genuine class has a wand of a left foot with match winning abilities and is about 6 ft 3 in centre mid so good in air and shouldn't cost a lot he's out of contract soon.
