No New Injuries But Martin to Miss Wednesday Trip Thursday, 18th Apr 2013 14:57 Town boss Mick McCarthy says he has no new injuries ahead of Saturday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday, although midfielder Lee Martin will remain behind to work on his fitness.
McCarthy said: “Everybody’s all right. Lee Martin’s OK, he’ll train tomorrow but he’s not going to travel because he’s only had 80 minutes against Millwall since [he was sent off against] Forest.
“He’s been ill and he’s had an ankle injury, so he’ll stay behind and train and play on Monday against Colchester [for the U21s]. Everybody else is all right.”
Striker Aaron Mclean hurt his foot in training earlier in the week, but the Blues boss says there’s no break: “I think he had an x-ray and it’s not broken anyway.
“We were worried that we might have to put an injection on it on Tuesday night, but I didn’t want to do that and then find that it didn’t work. He’s trained today. He’s OK, he’s fine.”
Paul Taylor (foot surgery) and Josh Carson (broken toe) are both ruled out for the season but are expected to be OK to start pre-season along with the rest of the squad.

Martin gives 110% every game and if we do keep him, which I hope we do. We will have a team of players who will give it there all for the club. Loach Cresswell Smith Chambers, Stearman (hopefully) Martin, Hyam Wordsworth Edwards Nouble Murphy All these players put in maximum effort every game they play, with the possible exception of Edwards.

Thats a shame, think that we will struggle without him. We haven't got anyone else that can play in that position so we will see how good of a manager Mick really is.

I saw my first swallow this week but doubt I'll see the lesser spotted Martin for the rest of the season.

We certainly havent struggled without him so far! Dont get me wrong, he's not been the worst Ipswich player ever, but he's not been the best by a long shot! He's always given 100% for the club and the team, there can't ever be any debate about that, but so he should, he's a professional footballer who earns good money and plays for a great club. Not enough end product, Tabb has been far better. If Martin was going to sign he would have done so by now. He's off and in my opinion, the squad wont be a lot worse without him.

This forum is funny! Phil please get rid of the 'thumbs up/down' thing. If you have anything constructive to say (including negative) then you are thumbed down..always. This is meant to be a forum for opinion/debate! Seems to me unless you think everything is great (which it most certainly is not) you get slated!! Watch the thumbs down for this...lol!

the lesser spotted martin ? when he is fit and available mick plays him dosent he? some really stupid anti martin comments on here. walk the walk i like the up down thing on the comments. i dont mind constructive comments but some of the stuff posted is just slagging players off for no good reason from people with little real understanding of the game. they just want somebody to slag off- they need to take a look at themselves if they wish to be considered town supporters.
