Judge to Rejoin Blackburn
Thursday, 16th May 2013 16:48

Blackburn Rovers are reported to have agreed a deal to sign Town target Alan Judge when his Notts County contract expires at the end of June. The 24-year-old, who started his career at Ewood Park, was available on a free transfer having decided to leave Chris Kiwomya’s League One club at the end of the season.

On Saturday, TWTD reported that the Blues were facing opposition from Blackburn with Judge having worked under current caretaker-manager Gary Bowyer while with the Rovers academy. Bowyer is tipped to get the job permanently.

Derby and Charlton were also in the hunt for the Dubliner, who we revealed was back on the Blues' radar earlier in the month having previously been eyed last summer.

Rovers are also reported to have completed the signing of Millwall winger Chris Taylor, also on a Bosman free transfer.

Judge's apparent decision to rejoin Blackburn means that Blues boss Mick McCarthy, whose discussions regarding his summer plans with owner Marcus Evans are currently ongoing, will now have to look elsewhere for additions to his wide midfield options with Judge having been close to the top of his summer wish-list.

He was there before, he knows the manager & could possibly get double the wage he'd get here & he has no loyalty/link to us, so hardly a surprising move if true.
As for ambition; well we all think the club is moving forward in the right manner & will be challanging for the playoffs next season, but to an objective outsider it might look like Blackburn have far greater promotion potential, given the squad & financial backing. If Judge (or anyone) thinks the new manager is decent & strong enough to deal with the Venkys, well then he would surely see a move there, on £15k - £20k a week to be an ambitious move.
We'll look elsewhere & trust Mick to unearth a gem.

Ah well if he wants to play with the chicken pluckers, let him... He is clearly no judge!

He was always going to go back there with him having a point to prove and playing for his old manager. Shame because he's just the type of player we need. Oh well, plenty more fish in the sea!

I'm not bothered as the link with Town was purely speculation as far as I can see. Mick knows who he wants to bring in and nothing will be happening until June. We have already recruited Skuse with the minimum of fuss and we will see a few more through the door in the next couple of weeks.

While I may be clutching at straws, a certain George Boyd was supposed to be joining us last year but that all fell through. We can still hope! COYB!!!

And how long is he going to be the manager for Hoppy!? The fact they're letting him enter into the transfer market when it's highly likely he'll be replaced shows how laughable the Venkys are as owners!

Has anyone at this club ever said they were interested in him? This was just press speculation, move on, lets have players back here who want to play for IPSWICH not for any other reason.

A little disappointed by this as I understood that we were in pole position to sign a top player from a lower division on a free transfer, but you win some, you lose some.

In contrast, you have to question the mentality of anyone who would be that keen to sign for Blackburn at the moment. The club has been in spectacular and very public turmoil for years now, so a move there would be pretty risky. Presumably they have made him an offer he couldn't refuse (in a good way, not a Godfather type thing...)

Everyone seems to be writing Blackburn off on the basis of not doing well having come out of the PL and not being able to make up their minds of who they want as a manager.

They have the backing though and will be there or thereabouts next season. Especially if they continue to sign players in the calibre of Judge. (and sort out a manager)

Not bothered at all and shows a complete poor Judge of owners and Management
Blackburn owners have proven in last year that they are clueless
MM has shown an ability in the market already to attract players so any doom n gloom merchants just sit tight
Play Offs are not yet done and there are afew players we may want to look at there
Total faith in MM and team plus ME !!

He'd better read the contract carefully... The promised millions might be Rupees.

It's the money, stoopid! We're going to have to get used to this. We can't compete with clubs still awash with ridiculous parachute payments from the PL. Mick's going to have a very hard job to move us up to the next level.

Come on guys, he's not Messi!

Lets move on, its very very early days this summer and there are lots more fish in the sea.

Instead of moaning about parachute payments, we have to do what we have always done when we have been successful and thats box clever in the transfer market and bring a couple through the youth system.

I would dispute how much the paruchute payments have been relevent, certainly wasnt this season with one of teams dropping down to league one let alone an immediate return to the PL!

and as predicted....somebody gave me a minus mark the other day about competition we faced to sign him, how do you feel now?

Steve - Sweden, agree...we should be used to this by now..

Very Very Disappointing, I'm sure MM tried hard to bring him to Town but that's another signing we almost had but has clearly gone to Blackburn because of money. We need to start giving MM the money to get these quality payers to help us get promotion.

Harry Forrester is a must need now, anyway he is a better player, younger and looks versitle both on wing and CAM roles. Creative and has some goals under his name, whilst creating aswell. Don't be too down about Judge people!!
