Taylor Should Be Fit for Start of Pre-Season
Tuesday, 4th Jun 2013 17:27

Striker Paul Taylor has continued his rehabilitation from the foot injury which ended his 2012/13 in September during the summer and should be ready to join in with the rest of the squad when they start pre-season training in the final week of June.

Taylor, who suffered the injury which eventually required surgery in only his third game after his move from Peterborough, has been working with fitness coach Andy Liddell and assistant physio Alex Chapman at Playford Road.

Chapman told the club site: "Tayls has been at the training ground virtually every day, working on his fitness with Lids.

“He’s been doing a lot of running and is kicking a ball as well, and hopefully he will be ready to join the rest of the lads for the start of pre-season.”

Town's first friendly at Dublin club Shelbourne follows a week's training in Ireland. A full list of the friendlies announced so far can be found here.

Meanwhile, Aaron Cresswell underwent laser eye surgery in Surrey earlier today, his girlfriend tweeting a photo of the left-back’s temporary new look.

Will be interesting to see how Taylor does, looked a very lively player in the first few games before his injury, should of bagged a goal at Middlebrough away

Further to the story, could users avoid speculating on Taylor's ongoing court case. Doing so could cause you legal problems. Cheers.

sincerely hope he is fit for the new season, as is a good player who could make a big difference. only problem is of course, that he could be in prison by then. lets hope for a lenient judge. (assuming hes found guilty obviously)

Was Cressy a contact lense wearer before then?

Hoping for great things. Can't really judge him yet. £1.75M spent on him - so fingers crossed.

Taylor was very impressive at Peterborough and looked lively in one of his games for us at home to Huddersfield. Will have 4 good strikers next season: McGoldrick, Taylor, Nouble and Murphy. Chopra can rot in the reserves.

I'm really hoping and looking forward to Taylor being fit for the start of next season. I've always been a fan of him and I'm hoping he can smash in a few...To score goals tho, Taylor will need good assistance from the midfield boys...we need someone with excellent vision...who is calm and collective on the ball. Also someone who is prepared to do a shift and help in defending when the odds are against us...is anyone else a little bored about Links/speculation with new players. I'm not interested unless we're signing them...we always seem to be linked, and then someone else pops in and signs them...we should stop being such tight a**es and offer mick some decent Wonga...

McGoldrick Taylor Murphy Nouble. Not a bad base. Train Nouble to jump and maybe find a real poacher (Chopra? Marriot even?) and we could be in business.

Would like to think Mick is putting most of his effort into finding centre back cover and a couple of wingers and a playmaker. Not too much to ask is it?

if MM can keep Taylor off the juice and out of pub brawls we should have a good footballer in him -next strike and he must go

See West Ham are signing a new goalkeeper to put pressure on JJ. Henderson surely won't want to be third choice at best

Cressy looks like Biggles!! He looks like he's done well on the girlfreind front!! Why do footballers never date mingers?? Actually thats a stupid thing to say I could think of several thousand reasons why not!!

Having Taylor back will be like having a new signing....thats if he is "available" at all.

arc - he's not actually drinking anything, he's pouring out Optrex. I hope he didn't splash any on his homemade t-shirt.

Could be like a new signing this season. Hopefully gets fully fit when the rest of the lads do and hits the ground running. Could be the creative influence we've lacked.
