East Midlands Meet-Up to Watch Barnsley Match
Tuesday, 29th Oct 2013 10:36

East Midlands-based TWTD posters are meeting up in Nottingham to watch Friday’s live Sky game against Barnsley (KO 7.45pm).

The venue is the Hemlock Stone & Dragon in Bramcote Lane, Wollaton, NG8 2QQ with all welcome to come along.

Beeston railway station is 2.7 miles away, there are no easy buses but a cab won’t be too expensive. It would take about 45 minutes on foot.

Derby and Loughborough both have trains into Beeston once per hour and returns until 11.20pm (Derby) and 11.15pm (Loughborough)

The main bus route from Nottingham to Derby runs along the A52 (Brian Clough Way). If you get off at the Toby Carvery/Shell Garage Island, the Hemlock Stone is less than 10 minutes' walk away.

Just walk along Wollaton Vale and you’ll stumble upon the Hemlock Stone & Dragon. This is probably the easiest route to use to get in and out of the city.

If you're planning to meet up with other Town fans somewhere else in the country or world to watch the game, post the location below.

The nascent South West Supporters branch have set up arrangements at two venues to get together and enjoy the game.

Supporters in the Bristol area are meeting in The Cider Press, Bristol, BS7 8BN. We have booked a space at the back of the pub where they have a large TV with Sky Sports on.

Supporters in the Devon area and further west have organized a get together at The Volunteer Inn, Sidmouth, Devon, EX10 9BQ. Send me a PM and I will fill you in with any additional information.

Awesome idea and would be interested (live in Derby). Ironically though, I'm going to the game! Do they often organise get togethers?

Used to study at Nottingham Trent University, and was always surprised by the large number of Town fans amongst the student population. I remember when we played Arsenal in the Carling Cup, I went down to Rileys to watch it on the big screen - there were as many blue shirts in there as red. The atmosphere turned from electric to euphoric when Tamas Priskin scored that goal.

this is the first time we have done it, well, we as in myself and Deliaplums (who has organised the pub!) , we had the idea after we saw a lot of the same faces at the Derby and Weds games last month, figured there must be more fans round this way and itd be worth a go. Barnsley game seemed ideal, its on a friday so many wont be travelling down, so we shall see how many turn out! We tried to make it as easy as possible for fans to get to from the M1, or from Notts / Derby / Lufbra, so hopefully itll do ok!

Have thought about trying to do lift shares to home games too, see what we get as a turn out first the I might try to do that too!

@ Rosseden & Delia's plums (sounds very wrong)

I thinks it's a good idea and I'd definitely go another time. Is there a Facebook group or equivalent for us East Midlands folks? Miight be useful for future get togethers and arranging car shares and the like.

Really looking forward to this. If everybody who's planning to come could DM me that'd be great, I said I'd keep the Hemlock abreast of numbers.
Also, the article above says a minute's walk from the Shell roundabout to the pub but it's realistically 10 mins.
See you there. COYB
