McCarthy Rings Changes
Tuesday, 3rd Dec 2013 18:56

Town boss Mick McCarthy has made four changes ahead of this evening’s home game against Blackburn Rovers.

Skipper Carlos Edwards comes in at right midfield, Luke Hyam into the centre, Stephen Hunt makes his full debut on the left and Frank Nouble joins David McGoldrick up front.

Paul Anderson, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Jay Tabb and Daryl Murphy all drop to the bench, while Paul Taylor again misses out due to his shoulder injury.

Blackburn include ex-Blue Jordan Rhodes and former loanee DJ Campbell up front from the start.

Town: Gerken, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell, Edwards, Hyam, Skuse, Hunt, McGoldrick, Nouble. Subs: Loach, Mings, Tunnicliffe, Tabb, Anderson, Graham, Murphy.

Blackburn: Kean, Kane, Dann, Hanley, Spurr, Cairney, Williamson, Lowe, King, Campbell, Rhodes. Subs: Eastwood, Kilgallon, Marshall, Rochina, Judge, Henley, Gestede.

Wow! Four changes, I am sure MM knows what he is doing but why change a winning team and please don't give me the old chestnut of 3 games in a week. These are professional, apparently very fit footballers who should be able to play 3 games a week.

Hope it does not backfire on the Blues. Not happy with Hyam in midfield, he offers us very little.

1-1 for me which at home is not good enough

Wow.. Dont really know what to make with those changes.. Edwards bit past it, hyam may be shaken from the back injury, Murphy has been playing excellent and Nouble hasnt done more than him for his spot, but glad hunt is starting! I guess we have to rotate the squad a bit though. Will have to be careful with there striking force! COYB!!

Would go with those changes on the performance at Charlton to be honest. Maybe Murphy could feel a little hard done but the other 3 offered very little and with another game sat a good opportunity to play with some fresher legs..

I think it's the first time this season where we have 2 central midfielders and 2 natural wingers playing, which surprises me that we've dropped Murphy.

Yep, happy with that as long as hunt and Edwards are allowed to bomb on!

When was the last time Nouble started? At least it will give him a chance to make an impact with more than 15 minutes to go.

It's more than possible he is resting a couple of players.

Floridaboy he offers nothing? Nice one!
Hopefully hyams goal will encourage our midfield to press on and have a go more often! Glad nick has changed Anderson but not so sure about tabb! Come on town!!!!

I stand corrected, i wasn't saying they were bad, just from previous performances it seemed a gamble, a gamble which payed off, hope they can keep their form up! Play offs here we come! COYB!

I do love when all the Bells put their posts of negativity up on the back of a headline like this before the game starts. Now you can all go hang your heads in shame or be man enough to admit you know nothing!
