McCarthy: Taylor Can Leave
Saturday, 2nd Aug 2014 17:33

Town boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that striker Paul Taylor is available for transfer or loan having been left out of the Blues’ 21-man squad at Leyton Orient today.

“He’s available for transfer or loan. He won’t be playing for me,” McCarthy said afterwards. “He’s not for me.

"That was made clear at the end of last season, so I’m not saying anything that I haven’t already said and it’s not ‘shock, horror, that’s a good story’ because that was the case last season.

“I thought that I’d have a look at it, assess it. He came back really fit, he’s a had a go, but he’s just not for me.”

Taylor, 26, joined Town from Peterborough for an initial fee of £1.5 million in the summer of 2012 but, having suffered a serious foot injury soon after signing, has been unable to break into the first team on a regular basis.

This does not surprise me one bit. MM has his favourites whether they are talented or not but as long as they run all day it seems it's all that matters, how can players like Nouble , Tabb, Hunt etc even be considered, they are not good enough, full stop. I do hope the new signings of Bajner and Bru are given the chance to play but I doubt we will see much of them as both appear to be talented players & probably not suited to hoof ball. MM's style will not change, it can't because he is trapped in an obsolete style of football from the days when he was Chopper Jefferson centre half. He may get us out of the Championship but he won't be able to keep us in the Premiership because the man is not good enough as a manager & obviously his man management is highly questionable unless of course you are a player who sucks up to him

@Monkeyblue Personally know DD being from Cork think pulis will leave him to us for a spell again.

This is jot so much about ability but about the man. MM is after players who play for each other and PT has had issues and not in the MM mold.

The argument that you guys have in here reminds me of the arguments I had with the Chopra guys in here :-)

........... this 'in Mick we trust' one liner is nothing short of juvenile and pathetic to be honest.

We have what we currently have with this man - I seriously doubt that we will EVER be able to expect more - and for some of us 'it just isn't good enough.

And no hint of an apology for that - to anyone.

I also can't seem to understand the assumption that boring and dull football is the only thing that Mick knows. The teams he built at Sunderland and Wolves when he got them promoted proves the opposite, that he can build teams that are capable of being a big attacking threat, especially at Wolves. So why is it a common belief that this is all Mick can do?

Go away mick. We need options. Really annoyed at you now

Exactly. J4ck22 the best team Mick built was at Wolves hisa last club. They became a decent side and wxcelled beyond most folks expectations. It was shocking they dropped him after one bad 5-0 defeat to a talented WBA side. As naff as we've been to watch at times, hes got the decencd right and soon the passing play will come.

I think most are disappointed because each time Town spend a significant sum of money on a player (Taylor, Priskin, Parkin) it never seems to work out. As for the "Tabb is a favourite" comments - I'm not sure where that comes from because he is nowhere near our 1st eleven. What makes it more frustrating is that after shedding out a load of money for a player, we end up loaning him out or cancelling a contract by mutual consent. I trust MM's judgement on a player; it has only improved us so far.

My dream is that one day I win the Euro-millions and buy out our owner who has no clue about football.
Then I can sack the boring Mick dinosaur, and appoint a manager like Fergie Jr who will build a team around Taylor and bring back the glory days of our once proud club.
Unfortunately its just a dream. Just like the dream all supporters have, which will never come to fruition with such a bad manager in charge.

This hoof ball idea is not right... MM took over from Jack Charlton with Ireland with a reputation at Millwall for playing good passing football. He suffered in his first qualifying campaign because he was moving Ireland from a long ball game they played under Charlton to a shorter passing game. I just think MM is very pragmatic and if you gave him the money to buy messi, Ronaldo, etc, he'd have the team playing they beautiful game(he'd still kick messi's arse if he was not giving it 100%). He just see's his role at Ipswich as getting the best out of what he has and the best in todays game is results. if he'd come in and been given the cash keane had, he'd have bought better and produced better football. the football under keane was turgid, the football under royle was attacking but long ball, with kuqi and bent chasing the ball into channels

I knew it....another £Million and a half down the swany....this doesnt help the clubs finances does it!!?

Anyway Bajner made the difference for me against Leyton Orient this afternoon. I enjoyed watching and im really pleased as to how Mick has got us playing despite their late equaliser which some gloss off the performance.

I couldnt help but notice chambers reluctance to salute the fans after the final whistle with his trademark air punch.

I can see us beating Fulham next Saturday 1 nowt with Bajner and Murph leading the line as mcgoldrick not even lasting 45 in the 2nd period.

Monkeyboy, sorry but you are wrong.
Mick would sell Messi. Ronaldo etc, if they didn't track back and act as a defender, not an attacking player.

Some of you speak with such authority on decisions that the manager should make.

It must be difficult returning to your day jobs...

As I have said many times on here Paul Taylor is not and will never be a ITFC player there are often many reasons why a player does,nt fit in P/Bro managed P.T and I think the sooner he goes the better MIck Mcarthy well done shame but there's only so much you can take one day all you Taylor fans will find out the truth

monkeyblue.... Messi backside would have been kicked a lot by MM. in that last game he played against Germany, he spent a lot of the game WALKING around the centre circle !!!!! when he lost the ball he made no attempt to try and win it back, which would not suit MM ?????
