Fraser Out for At Least Two Months With Knee Injury Tuesday, 13th Oct 2015 15:21 Loan winger Ryan Fraser has been ruled out for at least the next two months due to a medial ligament injury suffered while on international duty with Scotland’s U21s, Town have revealed.
“Ryan was training on the Friday when he suffered a non-contact injury,” physio Matt Byard told the club site.
“He had a scan in Aberdeen and that showed a medial ligament problem. We took him to see a specialist in London yesterday and he has confirmed the injury.
“You can never be sure about timings with an injury like Ryan’s but I would expect him to be out for at least two months.”
The injury is a big blow for the Blues with the 21-year-old, who is on loan from AFC Bournemouth for the season, having been one of the most impressive performers in the opening months of the season.
Fraser has scored four goals in eight starts and three sub appearances and was named the Football League's Young Player of the Month for August when he was also amongst the nominees for the Championship Player of the Month gong.
The Scot's absence seems likely to give recently signed Australian international Tommy Oar a chance to establish himself in the Blues first team.

It'l be interesting if MM does revert back to plan A and results start to improve - if not the entertainment

What the hell is wrong with our luck left wing. Le Pen / Civelli.........! Alan Quinn / Jay Tabb shoved out wide. Fraser looking the real deal out there, why can we not get any luck on the left flank.

Right, that's it. Time to just forget this season. Write it off and look forward to August 2016 instead.

......... typical example of what can happen - that's why 'points on the board' are always far better that if's,but's, maybe's ....... and not forgetting the 'it's only early days, plenty of games left' people, who will continuously say that until almost the last game of the season. Heavy pitch time looming, therefore we can expect injuries - may live to regret the 'lost points' we've not been able to accrue over the past few weeks. Interesting times ahead ..... !!

Fu**Ing marvelous the best most attacking player we have had on the pitch this season. Hopefully Tommy O can fill the void.

Various pundits believe this is strongest squad we have in years. Now very sadly the most dangerous player, to date, is sidelined. So how will his absence be remedied? Will those in charge now show that we do have that strongest squad, who will be his replacement and more importantly what will his absence do to the style of play. A sort of crossroads come early, for Ryan was an undoubted " gold star" and someone new spectators would pay to watch. Ok he is " only ours" for this season but this unfortunate injury may prove to be quite devastating. Hoping not but let see this depth of ours.

Too much doom and gloom. One player does not make a team.We do have a good squad, don't knock the squad just yet, still a long way to go.

EssexTractor - good points - I think the questioning of the squad strength is valid. In terms of ability, I am yet to see the evidence of this 'strong squad' - mu opinion is we have far too much of a muchness. The main problem, and please let's not keep denying it, is we STILL play square pegs in round holes. Some knock Tommy Smith for instance, but when has the guy played on his best, and preferred side ? Chambers will openly admit he struggles at RB, but keeps quiet about it because he wants to be in the team - he will NEVER be an effective RB, and he knows it. You can get by with these arrangements to cover short term in terms of necessity - but not forever and a day - as we have all found out, and can see. Except of course the man who can, and should, change it to what is best - and works .... !!! Cannot see anything other than a mid table finish for us - maybe par for the course with Mid Table Mick - who no doubt will term that as SUCCESSFUL.

martin587 ........... you seem to be another who see's questioning something as being 'doom and gloom'. NOT the case .......... some of it is all too obvious - for those who can see it - others prefer not to.

Very disappointing to hear this...what is it with the squad picking up injuries so frequently and so early in the season?...agree with @keanish, might force a change of 'hand' now our most creative player is out for a few months, and might make Mick resort back to his accustomed style of playing narrower in midfield (not that it is that great to watch). Still doesn't make any difference to our poor defense, clean sheets at the back will see us improve than how we've been of late.

Blue boy why is it that any one on here who is positive or supportive of the team is chastised for not knowing what they are talking about? just don't get it

Not doom and gloom, just a sad fact, he was the best player in our team this season and he is not even our player. Will be lucky if he is back by Christmas. Let's hope by that time we are not looking at a division one side to go with our division one budget

essex57 .......... why is it that anyone who queries ANYTHING is seen as a 'doom and gloom' merchant ?? ........ instead of being someone who has a right to do so. Some people are pro-active - some re-active - some NOT active at all, when it comes to seeing the truth. What category do you think you fit into ..... ??

Fast wingers will often pick up this type of injury due to the forces on their knee joints while changing direction at speed when cutting in etc. I'm afraid that this risk goes with the territory. Good that we have cover, but its a crying shame that our squad is now thinning in key positions due to injuries so early in the season. I hope Mick plays Tommy Oar, if nothing else, his set piece taking looks better than what we have been used to of late.

Blue boy my point is that people should post their views whatever they may be but why do they have to pass judgement on people who disagree

This is huge loss, make no mistake. He's been our go-to player this season. But, tommy oar is class. Seen him play many times . He will set up several chances every game he plays. I can see Murphy starting to feed off Tommys deliveries from the left.

Real shame for Frazer a great player .And what now do we have to replace him? Jack Douglas, Jay Tabb ?. What ever happened to the 8 million we (as fans) were promised was available to buy new players in the summer by Milne. ( and where did the 4 mill Cresswell money go ?) Jesus if we want to get promoted we need players like Fraser so please MM go into the loan market and get us some creativity in midfield and play McGoldrick from the start. The fans really need players they can take to their hearts ,enjoy to watch and know they make a real difference on the pitch...Magilton,Bullard,Holland and yes Williams.. #boredofbargainbasementsignings

Bugger! Wake up on Wed. morning to more bad news. This is a blow, both personally for the player and for the team. Wish you a speedy recovery, Ryan. We are supposed to have a much stronger squad - now is the time to prove it. Unfortunately, injuries are part of the game. Other teams will also suffer, so we just have to get on with it. Hope Tommy grabs his chance.

So he is injured the week before, makes a miraculous recovery in time to join u21s, then gets crocked again. Who pays wages now? The National team?

cats_whiskers added 10:17 - Oct 14
Fraser has been the most inspirational player so far this season. He looks to make things happen, whereas McGoldrick and Murphy seem to be only firing on 3 cylinders or less and in retrospect it seems as if we should have taken the money on those two, as they aren't displaying any such form that is worthy of those respective amounts quoted. Gerken, enough said!!! Inept midfield pairings and odd selection formations lie at McCarthy's door and rather than keep picking Skuse (place him on the bench for once) play Douglass with Bru, Toure, and Maitland-Niles. Huddersfield aren't no pushovers these days and it is going to be a tough game and with how we are performing now, a difficult one to win. If we don't get at least 3 points from our next 2 games then change the management as McCarthy is quickly appearing to be bereft of ideas.
