Maitland-Niles Replaces Injured Bru at Charlton
Saturday, 28th Nov 2015 11:44

Ainsley Maitland-Niles returns to the Town starting line-up for the injured Kevin Bru in an otherwise unchanged Blues side ahead of this afternoon’s live Sky game at Charlton (KO 12.30pm).

Winger Larsen Touré, a regular sub in recent weeks, is also missing and like Bru didn’t make the trip to South London.

U21s defender Joe Robinson, 19, is amongst the substitutes for the senior side for the first time in a competitive match.

Charlton have named an unchanged team including former Town loan keeper Stephen Henderson. One-time Blues academy schoolboy Nick Pope, also a keeper, is on the bench.

Charlton: Henderson, Holmes-Dennis, Bauer, Sarr, Fox, Diarra, Cousins, Jackson (c), Gudmundsson, Makienok, Lookman. Subs: Pope, Lennon, Solly, Ba, Ghoochannejhad, Vaz Te, Ahearne-Grant.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Smith, Berra, Knudsen, Skuse, Douglas, Maitland, Niles, Sears, Murphy, Pitman. Subs: Bialkowski, Malarczyk, Parr, Robinson, Coke, Tabb, Oar. Referee: Scott Duncan (Northumberland).

Love the negativity even before we kick off. Get a grip! And support the team

So we are cheating... Starting with 12 on the pitch Phil? According to your team Maitland and Niles are two people... Is it the Maitland from beetlejuice?

...with the extra comma in between maitland and niles it looks as though we are fielding 12 players...good...stick one of them in goal with gerkin and we may stand a chance....if you are there today tell Henderson to £&£& off as he did to us on that memorable night in Huddersfield COYB

Hope we get a good result today but we have nothing to look to on the bench.

The best team we could have fielded in my opinion. The worry for me is the lack of creativity, impact and goals on the bench. We seem to be lacking in numbers and although four good players are due back in a couple of weeks, I wonder if we missed a trick by not bringing some quality in on a month loan. Time will tell. Winnable game.

This may be a moronic approach, but before every single one of our games I always check this website and see where the punters £££ is going.

Every single bookie are cutting Charlton and the draw, our odds are going out, so what do the punters know that blinkered loyal fans of our clubs do not? Weirdly I've checked this several times this season and it's often come up trumps.

For an away game Niles worries me I must say especially with that front 3.

Should be lively though as we cannot defend and have attacking players galore.

COYB.

Very weak bench. If the starting 11 are not performing we have basically had it. No impact players except Parr and Tabb (is Tabb fit?). Tabb can play anywhere I suppose. Maybe Oar will get a good run out today?
