Milne: Winding-Up Order "Matter Already Resolved"
Monday, 22nd Feb 2016 09:25

Managing director Ian Milne says a winding up order which appears on a Ministry of Justice list relates to a debt which was paid before Christmas.

The club's name is on a list of winding-up orders due to go to court this morning but Milne told BBC Suffolk that it is "a matter that's already been resolved”.

TWTD approached the club for an official comment last night and a statement will be issued this morning.

Milne will be speaking on the Mark Murphy Show between 10.30 and 10.45am this morning.

Let's hope the judge isn't a Norwich supporter.

More to the point, why did we get on the list in the first place?

Says the bloke who also told us money was available to spend in January.

BBC Suffolk quote him as saying "he believes" it refers to a matter that's already been resolved. So he's not sure!

In spite of all the bluster, this says a lot about the sorry state of the ITFC's finances and why there is no money for new players. Isn't it time Marcus Evans came clean about the future of our club?

Been reliably informed that the debt to Ipswich Townisn't a problem - if Marcus Evans wanted to sign players and increase debt there would be no issue?

Something's not right there then...

Anyone who thinks Marcus Evans gives two hoots about this football club is deluded. I increasingly get the impression he would sell us down the river and never look back.

This could be embarrassing but all we have to do folks is wait for the statement could be something about nothing

What I'm worries about if we did ever get to the prem that he will do a oyston and cream off all the money . Hence why I'm not that bothered if we go up.

we're over £100 mil in debt its only a matter of time before bailiffs are at the ground during match day taking corner flags and seats out of the ground!

The fact that Bolton are also on that list is defo a cause for concern. Let's see what IM has to say - hope it is just an 'oversight'.

Calm down everybody! Ian Milne has explained on radio Suffolk that it was an error by the supplier. The debt was paid as agreed in early January! No problem!

I feel radio Suffolk asked the wrong questions, why did the third-party feel they had to go to the courts how long had the club kept them waiting for the payment. The whole episode is embarrassing for the club

There is really some tosh spouted on this forum. Evans saved our club from extinction and has continued to fund us, bunging in a cool £5-7 million a season up to the present £80 million+. Still people keep going on about him not making money available to the club and having no ambition. I for one don't give a damn if he's annoyed the HMRC and played a bit of brinkmanship to manage the cash flow. Look around you at Bolton, Blackpool, Portsmouth etc to see what happens when an owner gets fed up with the bickering and moaning and decides to get out. If you want a chicken processor from Mumbai to be an owner instead then keep on moaning.

I for one am grateful to Evans and will support him and his team. All we can do now is support a benefactor / owner and hope for a better future. Rather Evans than some foreign owner with little understanding of football or its culture in the UK.
