Town Keen to Loan Manchester City Youngster But Bolton Favourites
Thursday, 8th Jun 2017 20:11

Town are interested in signing Manchester City winger Bersant Celina on a season-long loan but newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers look favourites to land the 20-year-old Kosovo international.

Sky Sports are reporting that the Blues and Wanderers are both in talks with City regarding Celina, however, while TWTD understands the Blues are keen, the interest is yet to progress that far.

Celina, who is currently away with the Kosovo U21 squad ahead of a game in Norway, the country where he lived from the age of two and with whom he won caps at U15, U16, U17 and U21 levels, has already met with Bolton manager Phil Parkinson and been given a tour of the Macron Stadium.

“I know that Bolton are keen on signing me,” he confirmed to Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten. “But we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, there are other interested clubs as well.

“But I think Bolton would be a good club for me. It’s a club that belongs in the Championship or Premier League.”

Celina, who joined Manchester City from Norwegian club Strømsgodset as a 15-year-old, spent 2016/17 on loan with Dutch side FC Twente, scoring five times and picking up five assists in 27 appearances. Twente are said to keen for him to return next season.

Capped six times by Kosovo at full level, scoring once, Celina has made one Premier League sub appearance for City in addition to two starts and one game from the bench in the FA Cup.

Are we actually interested in signing anybody permanently to......I don't know....build a team!!!

Or we going to continue to be a shop window for young reserves in the premier league that, if successful, we won't be able to sign permanently anyway!!

Don't know where the hell this clubs transfer policy is these days.

He'll buggar off the Bolton anyway.

Sorry, but if Bolton are favourites over this, it shows ALOT about the state of this club right now. I remember when we attracted Giovani Dos Santos over Leeds! How things change!!

Bolton are favourites probably more to do with the geography rather than they are a more attractive club, come on lads, keep it real!!!!

DINO OUT NOW!!

Build our own team. Play our youngsters. Work to the future.

What did we get last year? Just managed to stay up. Gave a Leicester City player some good experience. At the end of it... the player has left, we're back to square one, possibly worse off and will be lucky to stay up.

WAKE UP!!!!

Not another winger, another to add to the list. Don't go forward to often, don't put crosses in, help out defense, drift in and out of the team, move on. Lawrence being the exception, but still moved on after keeping us up almost single handed. Another season gone, players depart to their parent clubs, no team built! And away we go again, more of the same.

Who in their right mind would want to come to our club now, limited wages and a sh*t way of playing football?

This guy is meant to be sh1t hot. One Citeh are pretty excited about from what I gather. Seems it's a case of geography playing against us by the sounds of it. Plus he knows he's going to get a lot of starts at Bolton.

^^agree cat, so we should therefore be bringing in young quality from the top London Clubs, I wonder if Bolton are paying his wages? Probably not, or not all anyway...

All these loans from the Prem Clubs are just wrong imo, without loans all these young talented players would be either playing in the Prem or joining League Clubs thus raising the standard and then in turn be bought by the top Clubs for decent money keeping Clubs alive....how many Championship players will be bought by the Prem Clubs this summer for big money? None, players like Loftus-Cheek should be playing for us and now being poached by a Prem side, but he's drifting along not playing competitive football or very very little..

Stop this loan nonsense. Build a team. Our players. Our youngsters. Okay, maybe need a couple of loans, but make them experienced players. That said, if Bolton can offer more than us, Evans should sell up. Now.

My disillusionment with the club grows- the honest truth is, I really could not give a toss either way

Build a team? We have £8000 paying customers. Bolton are a bigger club than us. Penny dropped yet?

Where' d that £ sign come from?

why do we have to always go to loans to make our squad, we might progress if we buy young players and make them ours instead of making players for other teams. No wonder we are stagnated in the championship. Our squad ends up relying on loan players. How are we meant to grow as a club when the players go off after every season. Then we do the same again next season...... sadly think it's going to be a long time before this changes with the people running this club.......

You need to take into account geography here. Bolton are favourites because they have a great setup, even though they've been in League One. But the main reason is that Bolton is very close to Manchester. This is why they're the favourites.

It's come to something that we now have to look at loans from the Premiership as the main basis of any flair in the team for the last season or so...sad.

This is just part of the PR spin machine working, this young lad would clearly prefer to be in the same geographical area of a large City, near his parent club, so choosing Bolton is a natural decision. What concerns me, is "The Club" last Summer kept saying "We've put in a 7 figure offer for a player" but I (with my little resources!) can put in a 7 figure offer for a player, knowing full well that the parent club want around say £4.5m but we offer £1.0m, obviously this gets rejected, but then that idiot Milne & Evans can go round trying to convince those who are naive enough to believe it, that the club are trying. :(

How close is Bolton to Manchester? Of course they are favourites, the lad won't even have to move house.

I really hope we don't sign him. Tried to talk himself in to the Norwegian squad by treaths of play for Bosnia if he wasn't in the Norwegian squad. He and his father . also he is massively overrated. Dozzel is a bigger talent.

Obviously wants to play for Bolton, so can't see this happening for us.

LWNR2013. We only have 8000 because our manager is the worst in the history of football. We play the most boring talentless C..p that any team has ever played. That is the root cause of the problem.
