Bialkowski Named Junior Blues Captain
Friday, 30th Jun 2017 14:31

Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski has been named the Junior Blues captain for the season ahead.

The Polish keeper, the Junior Blues Player of the Year for the last two seasons, is delighted to have been handed the role.

“I’m delighted to be Junior Blues captain for the new season,” he told the club site.

“I’m looking forward to meeting up with the club’s younger fans over the year and joining them at some of the Junior Blues events.”

Bialkowski was also pleased to see fellow keeper Dean Gerken sign a new two-year deal this week: “Deano is a top keeper and it’s good to have that level of competition here. It’s good for both of us, for the other ‘keepers as well and for the club.

“We support each other and drive each other on. We both want to play and we know that if one of us drops a level, the other one will be playing."

You can find more information on the Junior Blues on ITFC Direct.

Another disastrous move from the club. He's clearly too old

Lol at Wako.

Can we all stop wanging on about him being sold until such a time when he is actually sold.

It doesn't guarantee that he won't be sold when a substantial offer comes in for him, but it's a smart move by the club signalling the intention for him to be a key member of the team for the season ahead.

Flog shed loads of season tickets then flog him on deadline day. Sounds like a plan?

If a decent bid comes in the fact Bart is Junior Blues Captain isn't going to figure very high up in the decision making process to be frank!

Good move... and hopefully one that he'll be able to carry out throughout the season. There was a run of the Junior Blues captains then shortly moving on, I seem to remember not too long ago... unless I'm going mad, of course.

If a big enough bid comes in Bart or anyone else will be sold (obvs) but the signal is clear. The club are not looking to sell him. He is not going to be used to fund the current spending spree. A substantial bid that is of significant boo to club finnanes (IE someway above market value) is going to be needed to prise him away.....

Short of that the club's intention is clear so give it a rest.

Some of you have hit the wacky baccy early today. Paranoia senses in overdrive.

Emotional blackmail ploy for any potential transfer. We get to tell suitors to "Think Of the Kids" and add another $5m !

Seriously though it is a good sign, but we are delusional if we think a keeper as good as Bart is not going to get interest. Just have to hope if prem team needs him, then we drive a hard enough bargain to actually have the cash to replace him with someone about as good. Gerken is OK, but not at Bart's level am afraid.

Don't forget as well as fans wanting Bart to stay so does his family. ME won't sell if he really wants to make a push for the prem.y

Don't get carried away. Bart is a superb keeper but he is in contract and he would not get into any premier league side right now. No championship club is going to break the bank to sign him. We are under no pressure to sell and I don't think we would sell for 1 or 2'mil. The figures don't work for us or any buying club right now. In summary I don't see him going anywhere immediately.
