Town Linked With Move for Huddersfield Winger
Tuesday, 1st Aug 2017 09:15

Town are reported to be making a move to sign winger Harry Bunn from Premier League new boys Huddersfield.

According to The Sun, a fee of around £500,000 or £600,000 ought to be enough to secure the 24-year-old.

Bunn started his career with Manchester City during which time he spent time on loan at Rochdale, Preston, hometown club Oldham, Crewe, Sheffield United and the Terriers, who he subsequently joined on a permanent basis in January 2014.

Since that switch the 5ft 9in tall wideman, the son of ex-Oldham frontman Frankie, has made 70 starts and 28 sub appearances, scoring 17 goals.

While primarily a left-sided winger, Bunn can also operate centrally in midfield or in a more advanced role behind a main striker.

While a fourth striker remains Mick McCarthy's priority, wide midfield is another area where there Blues are certain to be looking to strengthen.

Huddersfield are in pre-season action in Austria this evening against VfB Stuttgart [a game Bunn wasn't involved in].

The noise around Huddersfield is that we are trying to get JOE LOLLEY on loan. Seems a little left field as Lolley has stayed at home and Bunn is with first team squad in Austria.

Desperation signing. We need a big powerful striker - and quickly too.

MM please check your dictionary for the word STRIKER.
Reports in the Sun mean nothing. I once read in that paper that tarantulas has 20 testicles. That was a load of boll*cks.

If we get him it will be a good buy for 500k...

Then we need a striker (Someone like Tammy Abraham last season)

I like Bunn and he is a starter - by that we don't need anymore for the future players we need some here and now players.
Agree with others we also need a centre forward & centre half. Come on Mr Evans prove people like me wrong and invest money in the team!

Give Mick some credit in that he did secure the 2 players he genuinely sought out this summer in Hughes and Celina. All the others are and will be cheap and opportunistic. Whether they fit the holes we have is secondary am afraid.....we ARE that desperate.

Bottom line, the way he trains them and injures them, Mick needs bodies in so Harry will do. Hopefully Mick gets lucky with a big name loan but it won't and isn't in our hands. Only cash gets you that level of control.

May as well, we need all the players we can get at the moment! Would much rather Scannell (who also won't be a starter for them) but would probably cost a bit more

Any additional dynamism will help too check out Dozza and the Charlton lads in this photo from Saturday's debacle and also check out how dynamic Skuse is:-

Bring him in. Good signing it would be. Not going to get better, plus we need another winger anyway. You can't complain, as we will NOT spend 5/6 million on a top player like you're all waiting for. Not happening! So we have to be realistic.

Interesting. Never seen him play but pleased to see he's a good age and Huddersfield fans seem to rate him fairly highly. £500-£600k is nothing for a decent Championship player in this day and age. Glad we're going for another winger as we're pretty short in options there at present. Hopefully this is as well as a striker and not instead of.

Wouldn't actually mind this, but a striker is the priority! If we can get Bunn and a striker and another defender, i'd be a lot happier. Only this is, we need a new manager more desperately!!!

He seems to be improving at Huddersfield season on season and his dad is a coach there, why would he want to come here?

Been from Huddersfield originally I have seen this guy play a few times and he is decent player was a bit of a bit part player last year due to van la perra and the other winger can't remember his name been top class. Would in my eyes be worth a punt however as above post said his dad is at the club and also know his missus who is settles there

Indeed why would he! Perhaps h'es gone down the pecking order and has realised he wont get many games.
Still if this means that Skuse wont get into starting 11 then happy days. Midfield needs pace and movement so with everyone fit that might happen.
Now for striker asap
