Bru Almost Joined Toulouse Thursday, 16th Nov 2017 10:56 Midfielder Kevin Bru has revealed he was close to joining Toulouse towards the end of the summer transfer window. Bru, 28, was told he could find another club in May and wasn’t given a Town squad number ahead of the start of the season with his departure prior to the end-of-August deadline expected. However, no move came about and injuries to a number of central midfielders led to his return to the squad, first as a sub - he eventually made his first appearance of the season at Burton - and then as a starter at Cardiff before again appearing from the bench in the 3-0 home victory over Preston before the break. The Mauritius international says there was interest in him from a number of sides his native France in the summer. "“I had a few clubs come in, two offers from clubs in the second division in France but I didn’t want to go,” Bru told the club site."" “Then in the last week of the transfer window I got an offer from Toulouse. It went down to the last day but didn’t happen for some reason and I didn’t have any time left to sort another move out. ""“I have one year here but there is the transfer window in January and if I have an opportunity from a club then and I want to go, then I think I will go. “If not, I have six months left here and it will be the same. I will work hard and do the best I can for the team. ""“I have played a few games recently and as long as I’m here, I will always do my best for Ipswich.” Bru joined the Blues in the summer of 2014 on a Bosman free transfer after a successful trial having left Bulgarian side Levski Sofia. He has made 60 starts and 37 sub appearances, scoring four goals.
