Bristol Rovers Confirm Fee Agreed for Harrison
Monday, 23rd Jul 2018 11:52

Bristol Rovers have confirmed they have agreed a fee with an unnamed club - who as previously reported are Town - for striker Ellis Harrison.

A statement on the Pirates website reads: “Bristol Rovers have agreed an undisclosed fee with an unnamed club for the sale of striker Ellis Harrison.

“Ellis will therefore be given permission to discuss personal terms and will not travel with the squad to Holland for this week's training camp. The club will be making no further comment at this time.”

As revealed earlier, the move is thought likely to be completed today with the former Wales U21 international at the club to undergo a medical and complete the formalities on his switch.

The initial fee is around £700,000 but ultimately, if a number of top-up clauses are triggered, the deal could be worth more than £1 million to the League One club.

Just been told he's now having his medical. Good signing this. The Bristol fans are gutted he's leaving so I assume he will be a very good asset. COYB.

Looks promising. Historically we have had some great signings from lower league teams. Looking forward to the new season.

excited about this one. I lived in Bristol for a year and watched them 10-15 times. He's built like frank nouble but his touch is better and he's good with both feet. Very good In the air too

In the eyes of some fans, no lower league players should be given a chance in the Championship. Absolutely ridiculous! Good Luck Ellis and welcome!

A lot of supporters forget which division our goalkeeper came from. I'm looking forward to seeing a younger team of players who want to play for us and not players near the end of there career.

I'll chuck a couple of names at you TBT who both came from lower league clubs. You may have heard of them? Kane and Vardy. I think at least one of them did alright in the last world cup.

@leftie1972 what lower league team did spurs sign harry kane from?

Tommy... To answer your question, Watford. Tottenham poached Harry Kane from Watford's youth set up. Subsequently he learned his trade and gained experience in the lower leagues playing for Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester.

I'm not sure what your point is?

@RoyalAscotBlue sorry to burst your bubble but harry kane didnt actually sign for Watford he was only on trial for 4 weeks. And even if he did I wouldnt call watford a lower league club. I was not making any point with my comment merely replying back to @leftie1972 who stated that kane started his career at a lower league club which he never
