Town boss Paul Hurst makes five changes to his team for this evening’s home game against Brentford with Janoi Donacien, Trevoh Chalobah, Kayden Jackson, Ellis Harrison and Grant Ward returning to the side, while Jon Walters, the mystery pre-match doubt, misses out.

Gwion Edwards, Jon Nolan, Jordan Graham and Flynn Downes all drop to the bench.

The Blues look set to line-up in a 3-5-2 system for the first time under Hurst with Donacien at left-back, where he played for Accrington last season, Jonas Knudsen on the left of the back three and Grant Ward, Cole Skuse and Chalobah in midfield. Harrison and Jackson are up front.

To play Donacian there so Spence can keep his place is baffling!!! Also, the worst bit a bit the formation is the Edwards doesn't really fit in it unfortunately.

dommyboyblue added 19:33 - Sep 18 Right formation, wrong personnel. Hope I am wrong though. We only need one of Skuse and Chalobah in midfield not both. This is not a 3 5 2 by the looks but a 5 3 2. Not sure they are wing backs. When you play 5 3 2 you only need one defensive midfielder otherwise we are playing a back 7. Well better safe than sorry.

Brockleyblue added 19:36 - Sep 18 It sounded like the performance at Hull was dreadful, so a drastic change was probably needed tonight in terms of line-up. My fear is that PH can shuffle the pack in all sorts of interesting ways but it doesn't change the fact that the pack itself is not strong, certainly not compared to many other Championship teams. I don't want to be disrespectful to the players, but you read through the names of the starting XI and the subs and you think to yourself there aren't too many (any?) names there that will strike fear into the opposition.
