U23s at Barnsley
Friday, 8th Mar 2019 09:47

The Blues’ table-topping U23s are in action away against Barnsley at the Tykes’ training ground this afternoon (KO 2pm).

Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg’s side are seven points clear at the top of the Professional Development League Two South table following the 2-0 home win against Burnley on Monday and second-place Crystal Palace’s 1-0 defeat at home to Bolton.

With the first-team in action at West Brom tomorrow, no senior players are likely to be involved aside from Tristan Nydam, who returns after a back injury. Defender Corrie Ndaba again skippers.

Among those in the Barnsley team will be AFC Sudbury’s Tyler French, who is currently on trial with the Tykes.

The 20-year-old defender spent time on trial with Town in 2016 and 2017, featuring for both the U18s and the U23s, but without winning a contract.

U23s: Wright, Crowe, Clements, Cotter, Webber, Ndaba (c), El Mizouni, McGavin, Nydam, Dobra, K Brown. Subs: Egan, Simpson, Hughes, Fehrenbach, Foudil.
