China Role for Blues Legend Butcher
Monday, 29th Jul 2019 09:43

Blues and England legend Terry Butcher has been handed the role of defensive coach with Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F.

Butcher, 60, will be assisting boss Dragan Stojkovic with the ninth-placed club until the end of 2019.

The appointment means Butcher will be standing down his role on BBC Radio Suffolk's Life’s a Pitch which he took on last season.

Butcher’s new job is his first in management since leaving Newport County in 2015, although he was briefly appointed Philippines manager in 2018 but the deal broke down before he had started the position.

If 1m a week is good enough for Bale, then they should be paying Butch double.

*I am aware Bale isn't going as it stands

wkj - that was fake news, all the best to Butch and no doubt will come back a fairly wealthy man, he can then buy the club :)

Could have done a lot worse then employ him ourselves. I know money talks but I bet big butch would have embraced the challenge here ...
