Town Linked With Vincent-Young Approach
Monday, 12th Aug 2019 15:46

Town are reported to have made an approach to Colchester United for former trialist Kane Vincent-Young.

The Blues were linked with the full-back over the weekend, now, according to Football Insider, Town have contacted the U’s regarding the 23-year-old.

Vincent-Young spent time on trial with the Blues during pre-season ahead of 2018/19 but wasn't offered a deal and ended up signing a new two-year contract at Colchester.

Last week the one-time Tottenham academy youngster was linked with moves to Championship sides Luton and Charlton but their transfer deadline passed with Vincent-Young still at the JobServe Community Stadium.

The Camden-born defender, who had a spell with Banbury early in his career, is primarily a right-back but also operates on the other flank.

Right-back is understood to be one of the areas where manager Paul Lambert is looking for one of his three additions prior to the League One window closing on September 2nd.

It’s likely to U’s would want a fee for Vincent-Young but with funds known to be in short supply at Portman Road.

We need a squad. He'd be a good addition.

Love him to join.
Seen him a couple times last season.
Looked very decent.
Much better option than Janoi, Josh or Myles for me.

Just pay some money? Maverick idea I know but bear with me, it's something we used to do apparently, I've read about it in ITFC history books

The fact he was here on trial and we did not take himthen but now we will bothers me somewhat..smacks a bit of no options / desperation , i have seen some posts saying Champ clubs want him...if they did would he would be at those clubs not a Col U ?. Is he any better than Josh E / Chambo ?.

The money ME has but chooses not to spend on ITFC?! Do you actually consider yourself a fan?!!

bluearmy_81 I asked you a question on another article which you chose not to answer, the question was in regards to your statement that ME charges interest on the money he lends to ITFC, can you please tell me where in the accounts I need to look to find out how much the interest actually is.
I have looked but I can't find it, let me know please.

Bluearmy_81 you are without a doubt a stuck record, OK we get you don't like Marcus Evans but please stop banging on and on and on and on about it. I for one, and I suspect there are many more, have become bored by it

May I remind you who was our 'manager' at that point, and ask if you think there is any relevance to any football decisions made then and the situation now? I'm not sure Hurst would've recognised any talent anyway.

I seem to recall Hurst spent the owners money last summer ? 🤔
Jackson played well Saturday, did you not pop down to show your passion 81 ?
How about the investment in the academy? Does this not count? Woolf, Flynn, Dozzell look like prospects to me.
I think this Col U lad might be a good addition, although I've never seen him play...

Shortmarine- I am not sure on the exact timings but could it be a case that PL thinks a bit more of him than PH did or maybe he has just matured a lor in the past year as a player? Was it about the same time we turned our attention to Donancien instead?

No Hurst spent 6m when we sold 12m worth of players, that not exactly the same is it?! It's a net spend of about minus 6m.
Rabbit, why don't you phone him up and ask him, why c are you asking me? It's common knowledge he charges interest on the debt. Not sure why if it will never be paid back?!! 🤔
Anyone who's bored, I seriously don't care. I'm more bored of Town being sh ite. You should be too.

Most fans put at least some pressure on the owner to step up and spend. Newcastle, Everton, Liverpool, the list is endless. Pressure on owners who are already spending.
Ipswich fans: "whatever you like Marcus, it's your club, you do what you like. I'll just sit here and watch. Maybe we'll get back in the championship before I die."
You're actually a disgrace

bluearmy-81 I'm sorry you are wrong, it is not common knowledge, you have used it as a fact, so kindly tell us all where did you get this fact from because as I have already mentioned it is not, as far as I am aware, in the accounts.

bluearmy_81 what is a total disgrace is people that have no idea what they are talking about using hearsay as fact.
What is also a disgrace is churlish name calling of others that have a different opinion.

What's changed since we had him on trial? If he wasn't good enough then, why is he now? Because others are interested?

So the answer is bluearmy_81 yet again you have no idea whether what you say is accurate or not, quite typical of your posts in general.

But...he spent 6m. You say the owner won't spend.
I'll tell you what 81, you drum up the rally against the owner, as has been done by town fans in the past. You put the keyboard down long enough to rally a real protest. It takes one person to make a difference, be that person.

No, he spent minus 6m last summer. That's why we went down. It had been coming for years.

It's common knowledge Rabbit. You're a grade A.... fan, thought you'd know that?

rabbit added 18:15 - Aug 12
Seriously bluearmy_81, you persist with common knowledge rhetoric it is totally laughable for a man of your age with what you tell us is your profession to state something as fact and yet have no ability to substantiate it.
Look at the accounts it tells you precisely.
