Blues Exercise Option on Holy Contract
Monday, 6th Jul 2020 13:26

Town have acted early to exercise the option on keeper Tomas Holy’s contract.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Blues last summer after leaving Gillingham, was moving into the final year of his terms having signed a two-year deal with an option for an additional season.

The Czech made 25 starts for Town in his first season at Portman Road, sharing the number one spot with now-departed loanee Will Norris.

Good news. I still don't understand why Lambert dropped Holy in favour of calamity Norris when we were doing so well at the time and Holy never really let us down. One of the many things Lambert got wrong from November onwards.

Excellent News.
Only dropped so that Norris could play enough games as part of his loan agreement. Was our No.1 Keeper by a long stretch.
Stick with Holy and the two young keeper. If a keeper gets injured you can still sign keepers on emergency loans. Lets not waste money we don't have on positions we don't need !!!

Good move for a change.

He needs some competition though, which presumably explains the rumours of us being interested in various keepers.

This is a positive move. I dont think that Norris deserved as many games as he got but that might have been due to the terms of his loan. I hope that this coming season Holy gets a consistent run of games and is not mucked around.

Good. I hope he secures his place. Should never have been dropped in the first place. More than any other reason Norris playing to satisfy the loan agreement cost us at least a play-off place.
