Town Launch Away Kit
Thursday, 15th Jul 2021 12:39

Town have unveiled their away kit for the 2021/22 season which as expected is a white shirt with black shorts and white socks.

Young fans Kai, Jamie, Freia, Brennan-Tate, Tilly and Ava were invited to model the strips in the club’s photographs.

“With our away kit launch we really wanted to engage with our younger fans, our next generation of supporters,” Town's head of retail Paul Macro told the club website. "What better way than for them to be part of a kit launch photo shoot!

“We invited them down to Portman Road and they got to be the first supporters to see the new away kit before heading to various locations around the stadium for the photo shoot.

“I think it’s exciting for a young supporter to see how things operate behind the scenes and they’ve all ended up with some really special images that they’ll be able to keep forever.”

The white shirt features black three-stripe detailing down the sides and textured horizontal pinstripes through the shirt.

The away kit is now available for pre-order here having been delayed with stock expected to arrive and orders set to be fulfilled towards the end of the month.

Okay but you can't go wrong with just white, not sure about the adidas stripes running down from the armpit though. Anything is better than the tepid bleached blue kit of last season.

Nice, classic Shirt.

It's very plain and a bit boring. It's better than last season but it looks more like a training kit.

Think it's a tad dull and lazy - what with a predominately white away shirt this will mean that there will be a third kit further down the line.

"Plain boring dull lazy"? Who cares? It's how what's in it performs that matters.

@AlanG296
It matters if someone wanted to buy it or not.

Bit disappointed. I do like a white away shirt but black neck detail and three stripes on shoulders would have looked better IMO. I guess I can always buy the white training shirt for something a little closer to my ideal. I wonder with the new ownership and having a white away shirt, whether we will get a third strip this season? Tangerine or red and black vertical stripes would be my choice.

Used to enjoy voting on the kit designs at the end of the season. Very hard to do now given both home and away kits are relaunched each year. Anyone remember the misprint on the Greene King badge on the cream, black and red stripes away kit? Or 'You've been Town-goed' with the orange and navy kit?

Plenty of Sheeran fans will buy it. Will make up for those who don't buy it because they don't like it.

If you want a shirt to wear when watching Town, you buy the one the ones the team wear. If you want a shirt to wear elsewhere, time to grow up.

Why do people think there will be a 3rd kit? Theres no reason for us to have a 3rd kit is there? Can only think of 1 away game that we could clash on. And that's only if sheff weds go back to blue and white stripes rather than the solid blue with pinstripes they wore last season. In which case I guess they may wear a one off kit which would be unlikely to be made available for sale.

The kit is ok. Gets a "3" on the Swedish 1-5 scale, which is a pass. What I like best is the models - another indication that ITFC are looking to build a new "family" of future, long-term fans.

Not a bad effort, white is always a nice classic colour for an away shirt. However, I would have much preferred the 3 Adidas stripes over the shoulders, without those the away kit looks a little bit too plain for my liking. Therefore, I'm preferring the style of the home kit instead of the away kit for this season.

Seriously lacking in any imagination or creativity IMHO...............difficult to comment constructively on something so blank...............

Love the kids modelling it - great marketing and what an encouragement to get the young on board - debate may continue over colour and style but get the youth involved and we build for tomorrow

Imagination and creativity in how the team performs matters. The only things that matter about a kit is that it is functional and the players can see each other to pass to.

Not a huge fan of the colours, but the short itself is nice. Always think Adidas kits look classier…. I quite liked last seasons away shirt, but then I also like the Bayern style kit and Barcelona ones. I think I prefer a bit more colour.

For me, I like our shirts (home or away) to be as plain and lacking in overt styling and frippery as possible. Anything that harps back to the 1970's plain style of shirt is good with me, especially as so much else seems to adorn the shirts of teams in today's game. Personally I really like this shirt, especially the plain shoulders.

Furthermore, I think the Ed Sheeran logo seems to go very well with both our shirts. Well done Town I say.

I have no problem with the white/black colour scheme but the shirt itself is a little dull. A black collar and black Adidas stripes on the sleeves would have looked a lot smarter.

The classic white with black pinstripe Adidas/Pioneer kit is the template we should be aiming for.

Why can't we just go back to the traditional yellow and blue? There's no meaning to this. Clubs lose their identity when they just keep changing the colour of away kits. We were even trying to be Barcelona a few seasons ago ffs.

Well this is the last remnant from Lambert/ Evans . All in all pretty much a non - descriptor. Like that era !

DaGremloid; when was Yellow and Blue our Traditional colours?
For me white and black are perfect away colours, the colours we had in the glory days of Sir Bobby and 2000/01.
