Three Changes For Blues at Charlton
Saturday, 29th Oct 2022 14:14

Town boss Kieran McKenna has made three changes for this afternoon’s game at Charlton with skipper Sam Morsy returning following his suspension.

Morsy is joined by Dominic Ball in the centre of midfield with Cameron Humphreys dropping to the bench following his goalscoring full league debut at Port Vale on Tuesday.

McKenna again shuffles his front three with Kayden Jackson replacing Kyle Edwards alongside Conor Chaplin behind lone striker Tyreece John-Jules with Freddie Ladapo, who netted twice at Vale Park, among the subs.

For the Addicks, Terell Thomas makes his full league debut, coming in for Ryan Inniss, who is suspended following his red card in Tuesday’s 2-0 home defeat to MK Dons.

Steven Sessegnon is back in the team having been rested against the Dons, while Corey Blackett-Taylor is on the bench having missed the previous two matches due to injury. Former Town midfielder Scott Fraser starts in the home side’s midfield.

Charlton: Wollacott, Clare, Thomas, O'Connell, Sessegnon, Egbo, Dobson, Fraser, Kirk, Rak-Sakyi, Stockley (c). Subs: MacGillivray, Lavelle, McGrandles, Morgan, Payne, Blackett-Taylor, Aneke.

Town: Walton, Donacien, Woolfenden, Edmundson, Burns, Ball, Morsy (c), Davis, Jackson, Chaplin, John-Jules. Subs: Hladky, Keogh, Vincent-Young, Humphreys, Edwards, Harness, Ladapo. Referee: Josh Smith (Bedfordshire).

Strong line-up. I guess Ladapo coming on with about 30 mins to go if we need a goal.

Great signing for Charlton to get Ryan Fraser on loan from Newcastle ;-)

We always need goals even when leading by lots in my view.

Time for John-Jules to step up. OK so far, but nothing spectacular.

Let's hope this is the one in six games that Jackson manages to score in.
Edwards for me,should start every week.

Edwards off the bench is good. Alternating attacking players seems to work well. Some of them seem to need the competition to show their best form.

Jackson will never score. Shame Ladapo, should be given run to enhance consistency patch after his goals of late.

What more does Ladapo have to do, after two Goals in the last game ?
I still predict ‘rotation' will ultimately not work at this level - How ofter does it even at the Top Level … ??

Just wish he would leave strikers alone and keep for at least 2 games, Jj misses to many chances
