Norwich, West Brom and Millwall Games on Sky
Thursday, 19th Oct 2023 16:37

Three Town games, including the derby against Norwich City, have moved having been selected for live Sky Sports coverage.

The game at West Brom on Saturday 25th November will now kick-off at 5.30pm for live screening with the Millwall game at Portman Road four days later now starting at the later time of 8pm for the same reason.

The long-awaited derby against the Canaries at Portman Road has moved back to a 12.30pm start but will still be played on Saturday 16th December with most more recent games between the Blues and Norwich having been switched to Sundays.

Town’s game at Rotherham on Friday night is also being shown live by the satellite broadcaster, kick-off 8pm.

The Blues’ game at Watford on Tuesday 12th December (KO 7.45pm) is also available as are all midweek games which aren't Sky features.

The visit to the Hornets will be shown on TownTV and, rather than the usual red button, Sky Sports Arena.

Watford's just a normal midweek match available via TownTV and Sky.

I've added a note to that effect!

With it being on Sky Sports arena and not red button I believe it will be full coverage?

So there are 4 more games us international fans can't watch unless we pay (again as we already pay 190€) for local coverage, or find a hookey stream somewhere!
I knew they'd do this with Norwich and I'm sure they'll do it again for the return fixture.
Grumble grumble grumble

No change of dates just KO times is a good thing.

Its the Sunday 12 o'clock that we want to avoid
Sky will be saving that for Swansea away I suppose

Is Sky Arena not the equivalent of the red button? Either way, it's available on TownTV as well and hasn't moved so is in line with other regular midweek matches, and club only announced the three others in their press release.

So long as we hammer the budgies, (it's long overdue) I don't care what the kick off time is.

Red button is different I think phil but I could be wrong. Arena is a channel where as red button isn’t. I hope I’m not wrong because red button games don’t have replays and you can’t rewind them. The doubt in my mind is it just means that’s the channel you can access red button on that night.

Cheers, I'll amend to that effect. But was a game which was already viewable on Sky anyway.

Can the police still overpower sky and force the norwich game to move to sunday? Who would have more power, the police or sky?

MunichBlue You could just "go to Luxembourg" using a VPN because they don't have any agreements with Sky there. I managed to watch the Sunderland game from Luxembourg, but I don't live there anymore.

Thanks europablue, I will have to find a better VPN the one I have now seems to stick when I stream live broadcasts

The long-awaited derby against the Canaries at Portman Road has moved *forward* to a 12.30pm start.

It has been brought forward in time so it hasn’t moved back

At least the Norwich game is on Saturday. 12 noon on Sundays, as per so many previous seasons, just doesn't work for a lot of people due to train times so delighted about that.

So is every mid week game available to watch on sky red button / arena for the rest of the season? And has that been the case since the start if the season?

I wish they would stop bug***ing about with times and dates, but I guess that's just a symptom of the corporate world that football has now become. And I wish they would start evening matches earlier than 8:00 pm. That's not all that convenient for Town fans without cars living in rural areas outside Ipswich. No buses of course, and you just need one train cancellation (not an unknown phenomenon!) and you're stuck. Rant over.

All football should be at 3pm on a Saturday. Mushrooms should be banned and crisps should not be for sale in cinemas.

That's my recipe for a better world.

Not great for international fans either. Towntv now not available so an extra sub needed for Sky/Now tv. Might soon be cheaper to buy a Ryanair return from Cyprus.

Can I suggest that TWTD posts a clear message a day before any non-3pm Saturday match to tell us exactly what the options are for viewing the match.
