Town Launch Pink Third Kit Designed With Sheeran Friday, 9th Aug 2024 12:25 Town have launched a pink third kit ahead of the new season, designed in conjunction with sponsor Ed Sheeran.
The new strip, which is available here now, is inspired by traditional Suffolk pink and features a silhouette of Framlingham Castle, the castle on the hill in Sheeran’s famed song.
Ipswich’s Wolsey Gate, reflected in the turrets at the top of the Town badge, is also included in the design.
Soundwaves from the cheer of the Portman Road crowd as players run out of the tunnel also appear on the front of the shirt, as does a representation of the 60 miles of Suffolk coastline, running from Felixstowe to Lowestoft.
In addition, ’Ed Sheeran x Ipswich Town’ is on the inside the neck with an Ipswich Town heart motif on the back.

“I wanted to incorporate Framingham Castle on here, as it’s my hometown, and in my opinion a huge landmark of Suffolk,” Sheerhan told the club site.
“We used Suffolk pink, which nods to the way cottages have been painted here for generations, but also how beautiful the sunset is in our amazing county. There are also sound waves from the noise of fans at Portman Road.
“It feels like such an honour to be involved in this football club and to be able to create things so close to my heart, which has always been my hometown, family and friends. Which is what football is about really. I can’t wait for the kick-off and to see us in the Prem again.”

I like the idea behind the kit and it will stand out. I’m sure we have some cavemen who don’t think we should have a Pink kit but all clubs have fans like that. If only for the fact it annoys them I love it.

At last a shirt that doesn’t look like all the others. Great design and colour. About time the football world treated women as equals and if that is what the club and Sheeran intented then I applaud them.

Brilliant ideas behind the kit. Makes it properly unique which I think is ace. I am just not sure what it will look like when Sam goes through the back of xxxx ( add which ever team's playmaker we go against!) ? Utterly terrifying !!!!

Should sell mightily well to Ed Sheeran fans & offers a complete contrast to the Black shirt! First glance it's hard to like then when you see Al Hamadi and Harry Clarke in it, it starts to makes sense. Sure Omari and Morsy will look the business in it!

Nice idea but not for me. If it was a real Suffolk pink then I would get used to it.. but that is just too pink.

I think it is genius once again. The idea of a 3rd kit is something different to target a different section of our support base who may want something a bit different. I think we need to get Ed involved in all our casual range and even consider something a bit more upmarket.

It’s a third kit and tbf I like how well considered the design is based on our great county. Yes it’s different and may not appeal to everyone but I actually think this could be an excellent marketing tool by Ipswich Town in selling the shirt to those Sheeran fans further afield and making our brand and club a higher profile globally. Some of the comments on here would lead me to believe that the schools have broken up for the summer. Hopefully this will change once the season starts as it’s getting tedious

Another day another week passes and disappointingly bare on the transfer front...we're talking about a pink kit currently...

Those marking my comment down… glad it’s annoying you and you are swinging your clubs at me. :-) Clearly irony is something you love.

It's a third kit for a reason same as the morbid black shirt and the off white and blue abortion they are not very good and would never be chosen as the second shirt and like the black one will hardly be seen in a years time. Don't see many men walking around town in Pink.

Those that think pink isn’t Macho just remember many Rugby Union/League teams wear Pink ! Just remember Football players spend 80% of their time on pitch pretending they’re injured but Rugby players spend 100% of their time pretending they’re not!!

Love it! Never heard of 'Suffolk Pink' as a colour though. Still, some decent thought behind this kit.

We need PLAYERS, not a Fancy Third Kit - are we likely to have anyone up Front against Liverpool ?? It looks that DIRE at the moment, and far from ideal preparation !!

Are we in the Premiership to stay, or just for a Seasons Fun ? - Pink Kit and No Fit Forward line is somewhat Daunting in terms of being serious with intent !

@blueboy81 No, we’re not in the premiership to stay. In fact we’re not in the premiership at all as we don’t play rugby league or football in Scotland. Are you going to be on here moaning every week this season? I know you must’ve been frustrated the last 2 seasons.

Too much pink, would look better with dark blue shorts

Well clearly the Pink kit is extremely popular with many. I was very surprised by how many were wearing them at PR today especially as they were only released yesterday. Look like being a money spinner
