Neom Linked With New Cajuste Approach Sunday, 3rd Aug 2025 13:27 Saudi Arabian club Neom are reported to have made a renewed move for Blues target Jens Cajuste.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Neom have offered a €2.5 million loan offer plus an option to sign for €8 million at the end of the season or otherwise pay a further €2.5 million.
Town are understood to have agreed a loan fee of €1.5 million (£1.3 million) plus a €7.5 million (£6.5 million) permanent deal if Town are promoted back to the Premier League with Cajuste’s club Napoli. A contract which runs to 2029 is said to have been provisionally agreed. The deal arranged with Turkish side Besiktas is also reportedly still on the table.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a successful spell with the Blues in 2024/25 and the club made no secret that they would like him back again for the campaign ahead, although while admitting it would be a difficult deal to do.
The Blues appear to have turned their attention back to Cajuste after Hayden Hackney's decision not to join the club, a fee having been agreed with Middlesbrough and the player having been at Town on Thursday.
Yesterday, manager Kieran McKenna wouldn’t comment on Town’s interest in bringing Cajuste back to Portman Road.
“Another player with another football club, so nothing to say or announce really,” he said.
However, he admitted the Sweden international is a player he’d love to have back at Portman Road.
“I’ve said that lots of times,” he added. “No news or updates there, we really, really like Jens.”
In addition to Town, Neom and Besiktas, Burnley were also previously in contention, while a number of Serie A and La Liga.

On Friday night we start our championship campaign, currently we still have not replaced Delap, still have not filled the void in CM after losing Phillips/Cajuste/Morsey/Luango and to add salt in the wounds we now might not have a fit LB ready for next week. It now looks like after not convincing Hackney we might be losing out on Cajuste too. I was not at all concerned a couple of weeks ago, but now I am starting to have doubts whether we are going to get anymore deals over the line (in fact we have more chance of losing Broadhead and Hutchinson then players coming in). It’s starting to feel like a couple of miracles need to happen pretty soon otherwise we might have a very disappointing start to this season given how light we are in no9 and CM particularly.

This message board is a joke. If you aren’t ultra positive all the time (like I wasn’t when Evans was killing the club) you are attacked for it. Arnie has a right to his views. People have different opinions, get over it!!

Bluearmy_81: Yes, everyone has a right to their opinion but what frustrates me are posts such as yours which contradict themselves within four sentences. You say that Arny has a right to his views (which he does) and yet when others express contrary views you throw a hissy fit.. You can't have it both ways.

Well this is all going really well. We need a midfielder. We were prepared to pay nearly 20mil for a championship midfielder let's just throw everything at cajuste. Our squad is looking stretched and lacking quality already and season. Hasn't even started. About to lose hutch and broadhead down and looks like no left back for start of season. We basically have four decent centre Half's, one decent midfield players. Two decent attacking midfield players and one unproven striker.

Blueboy1981. So you k ow the players norwich have signed are any good do you? No. Ofcourae not. Their preseason suggests otherwise. Or doespreseason mean nothing to you when its some1 else. Had we lost our games you'd have been alagging us off. Such a hypocrite. .

Folks you do realise that we did a lot of business in the last two transfer windows?
BobbyBell added 15:27 - Aug 3
This was never going to be a big transfer window. Some targets want higher level football and some want bigger wages. What MA will not do is put our club in a bad financial situation. If what we offer is not enough then we won't go over our own valuation. There is also little point in buying players short term. Personally I trust in KA and MA and we've had some big surprises in the past.

Perhaps Cajuste would prefer to come back here, but his club are trying to get more money for him. After all plenty of clubs after him but he hasn't signed for anyone yet.

This is getting stupid now, the whole transfer market needs an overhaul, the tail is wagging the dog! Not KMK or MA's fault, just agents and players playing roulette, not a sea I'd want to swim in quite frankly. Must be frustrating for the Town team. Those being critical apply for posts and you are obviously qualified and show us how it's done!!

If we want cajuste that much why are we messing around with a loan deal then sign him if we go up why not sign him now so he is our player. Then if we dont go up and he wants to go then sell him.Surely if he really wanted to be here he would have signed by now the offer has been on the table for him long enough.
Baino added 16:08 - Aug 3
@alfromcol has a point. Maybe it's Napoli thats the problem. Look at the Osimhen transfer. Went to Galatasaray on loan, they wanted to buy, then Saudi sides came in for him, then Galatasaray again then Saudi again and it rumbled on for ages. Not comparing the players of course just the transfer deal, so maybe it's Napoli that's the problem. In a World Cup season you would imagine that Jens would want his future sorted asap.

Whilst it is a frustrating window so far, let's remember there are 4 weeks remaining. Most transfers happen in last few days. It's wrong the season starts before it closes, but some of our targets will be waiting to see if a better offer comes along. No need to panic just yet.
jas0999 added 16:19 - Aug 3
Bottom line is we urgently need to bring some players in, preferably on a permanent basis. We still haven’t replaced Delap (and knew he was leaving probably back in March). Still a three player shortfall in midfield. With Hutch and Broadhead likely to leave - it’s a bit of a worry, with injuries already an issue.

Yes I have strong opinions and I challenge people I don’t agree with but I don’t start telling people they should or shouldn’t think like that or attack them as fans for thinking a certain way…
