Hutchinson Travelling to Forest For Medical Friday, 15th Aug 2025 10:42 Blues forward Omari Hutchinson is on his way to Nottingham Forest to undergo a medical and complete his switch to the Premier League side.
Last night, it was reported that the Tricky Trees were close to agreeing a £37.5 million fee for the 21-year-old with all aspects of the deal now agreed, according to various sources.
Hutchinson is now on his way to the City Ground for a medical with personal terms understood to have already been agreed.
The fee is a new record for the Blues, eclipsing the £30 million Chelsea paid for Liam Delap earlier in the summer, while Hutchinson’s former side Chelsea are reported elsewhere to be due 25 per cent of the profit, the Blues having signed the Redhill-born attacker for £20 million plus add-ons last summer.
It’s also a new record for Forest, beating the £35 million move for Dan Ndoye from Bologna only last month.
The fee is also understood to be the sixth-highest paid for a Championship player behind the £53 million Chelsea paid Southampton for Roméo Lavia in 2023, the £40 million Spurs handed Leicester for James Maddison the same summer and the same figure Brighton splashed out on Georginio Rutter when they signed him from Leeds a year later.
Nathan Ake moved from Bournemouth to Man City for £41 million in 2020 and Harvey Barnes from Leicester to Newcastle in 2023 for £38 million.
Last week, Forest had an offer of £35 million turned down by Town, while Brentford had a number of bids turned down, the highest also £35 million, and Everton and Serie A Inter have also been credited with an interest in the England U21 international.
Hutchinson has appeared certain to leave the Blues this summer having stayed behind when Town travelled to Auxerre for the final pre-season friendly with manager Kieran McKenna revealing on Tuesday that the 21-year-old “didn’t feel that he could contribute” at Bromley, having missed the season opener at Birmingham on Friday due to a throat infection.
Hutchinson is said to be a replacement for Anthony Elanga, who recently joined Newcastle for £55 million, at Forest.

If you’re playing that game Prebbs then how many of the 9 that have left were going to start every game? It’s nowhere near 9 is it.

We have made just £4m on the sale of Omari which is in reality a pittance. He has been badly advised by an agent who is interested in lining his own pockets and not the development of a young player. Omari is unlikely to be a regular starter at Forest and therefore he will enjoy watching PL football from the bench. Last season he had some excellent games but it was clear that he was still some way off being a PL player . I personally loved watching him play but his petulant and delusional behaviour has soured my opinion of him. Conversely he is a kid and his agent is probably making all the decisions. We need a top player through the door now to replace our marquee signing. Akpom will be an excellent addition but we’re still extremely light to be considered a top two side.

How have we made only £4 million - I assume you got a U at GCSE Maths.

Prebbs007. You are the one who has made yourself look silly, because the fact is, we have signed 6 players. You've just tried to back track with your 2nde comment by now saying 'name 6 first team players, whereas your original comment you talked about the squad. Leave off Blues1 because he was only being factual and was correct. Be a man and admit your were wrong

Lets hope he feel as though he can contribute to his medical...... I hope he brought his lockets too. Spoiled brat. Not good enough for the Prem anyway. Proved that with us last season. Cash in and spend wisely this time. Good riddance.

Marinersnose. Sorry I respectfully disagree. we owe Chelsea 25% of the PROFIT on Omari not the fee. If we paid £20m, made £17.5m above that their share is £4m and change. We've therefore made a £13m profit and have £33m of the fee freely to spend. And as for Omari, a 100% lesson on how NOT to behave

Shame the way it has panned like this but we need to move on now and spend the money wisely and in this window to get a replacement. I think we've made just over £13 million profit (if my maths is correct) from just 1 season after Chelsea take their 25% of the actual profit (17.5m and not total 37.5m figure) which is good in my opinion. Omari doesn't have the physical presence in my opinion to thrive in the Premier League (like Delap did) even though he is great technically. COYB

a good player for us winning promotion in 24, but didn't seem to do much in the prem. for us, hope he finds his feet at forrest.

A decent footballer but one who always seemed to lack the passion of other players, summed up by his emotionless backflips whenever he scored. Give me Chaplin, Burns, Broadhead or Harry Clarke any day of the week. Hopefully, some of this money will be used to allow KmcK to bring in some players at the top of his wish list.

Good Luck Omari - you need Forest, and you will flourish there I’m sure. Your so called Fans who raved about you last season and before are now lambasting you (but that’s low intelligence behaviour) - you shouldn’t have refused to play which apparently you did, but leave all that behind and look forward to many more of those forward / backward flips ahead.

Suffolk_n_proud wth is the blues1 love in about? It’s clear what I meant but if we are using your yardstick we’ve actually lost 12 players from last years SQUAD but I didn’t think including the likes of Slicker or Harness was correct just like I don’t include the signing of Button to count. Both you and blues1 need to wake up. We’ve lost crucial members of the usual match day 18 (hope this makes it clear for you) and not got adequate replacements. If you honestly think we look like a title challenger right now you’re delusional Tuesday proved that.

£30M for Delap. £37.5M for Hutchinson. £10M for Broadhead. I bet MA is in for a nice bonus! One fee for a player and four loans, who may or may not be here next season depending on whether we gain promotion. Disappointing. Oh well, moving on - good luck Omari.

Prebbs - did losing to Maidstone prove we weren’t capable of challenging for promotion in January 2024? No, so why would a one off cup game define the likelihood of success this year? Oh I know, it doesn’t.

Prebbs007 Have you gone absolutely mad or started drinking for the weekend already. All I've done is stated a fact about the number of players we've signed and not talked about anything else you're now babbling on about. Is your life really this bad? Get a grip. I know exactly how many players we have signed and lost, I don't need you to make up assumptions about what I'm thinking when I haven't stated my opinion at all. I ONLY stated the fact we have signed 6 players. Learn to regulate your emotions better and to read what is said.
