![]() Monday, 9th Jun 2003 14:55 Town academy defender Lee Beevers has signed a one-year deal with Third Division Boston United. Beevers, released by the Blues, made his league debut on loan with the Pilgrims on the last day of 2002/03. Beevers joins up with former Town striker Richard Logan at York Street as well as Neil Thompson who is manager at the Lincolnshire club. His assistant Neil Redfearn welcomed the signing: "We are delighted Lee has agreed to stay with us. "Things do take time to come around in football. He came on loan from Ipswich so we could look at him and he could have a look at us. "He was on the fringe of the first team towards the end of last season and did well in the reserves. Neil Thompson saw enough to know he wanted him at York Street. "He is a bright young player and, at 19, he has all the time in the world to develop into a regular member of the first team. I'm sure he can become a real asset to the squad at Boston United."
