It was great to see the team live, first time for a couple of years. A few more observations Davis/Philogene combination looks good - a lot of pace and skill there Matusiwa looks good - great on the half turn, looks to pass forward but as has been said by many, we need someone else in there to support him Performance after the substitutions was low-key. Press less committed and organized, some poor passing and (Chaplin aside) much less threat up front. A few injuries and we will struggle without new faces. Interested to see what Ashley Young brings. We were so much more threatening down the left. Bit disappointed Baggott and Humphreys did not make more impression, would love to see one or both step up this season. I think they played well in the previous game though. I still get the wobbles when we play the ball around at the back. A better organized pressing team would have had a couple I think Still a few moments where Aberdeen walked through the midfield from centre circle to penalty box unchallenged which felt a bit like last season. An excellent confidence boosting win. Just about everyone I spoke to at the game lived in Scotland. Seems like we have a big supporter base up here. |

Looking forward to watching the game live tonight. It looks like it will be a good crowd too. A couple of sections have sold out. One section of the ground is closed but apparently only 2k tickets remaining (20,000 capacity). I don't think (not surprising given the distance) we are taking a huge number but I'm sure we'll be vocal! |

The WSJ have played a blinder so far. Release information slowly and let the pressure crank up. The Democrats had 4 years in power and know exactly what evidence is available. Interested to see what else the WSJ choose to release. |
 | Forum Reply | Who is going up to Aberdeen? (n/t) at 11:15 21 Jul 2025
Yes I'm going. A couple of hours away. Looking at the seating plan, doesn't look like we are taking that many. There's a bit of a discrepancy on the start time. ITFC site says 19:00 but the Aberdeen site (and the tickets) say 19:30. Presume it is the latter. |
 | Forum Reply | Humphreys is 21, Baggott is 22 at 10:30 14 Jul 2025
I do hope Humphreys gets his chance this year. Looking at the 2 new players, both appear to be physical, combative midfielders and with Morsy we will not be short of muscle in the middle of the park. There may well be games where we need a bit more creativity in midfield and I think Humphreys can help supply that. Not quite so sure about Baggott, injury seems to have set back his progression so another season in League 1 or lower Championship may be best. |

In the absence of any transfer activity, is their any news about our various long-term injured players from last season? Who might we see in pre-season and who will still be out. |

Well, rock bottom of the old division 1 (should have been an omen). Had recently endured the longest winless streak in the club's history and beaten 10 - 1 by Fulham on Boxing Day. It was the ill-fated year when Jackie Milburn was manager. It's great how Ipswich and Newcastle have this special connection through Bobby Robson but nobody ever seems to bring up the Jackie Milburn connection, no celebratory merchandise that I have seen! |

When he gets to the pearly gates he might need to use his negotiating skills around Commandment 6 (about committing adultery), 7 (thou shalt not steal), 9 (about lusting after a neighbour's wife), 10 (coveting a neighbours house etc, like Greenland!). Apart from that he should be fine. |
 | Forum Reply | How are we feeling about the nodge game? at 10:23 2 Apr 2024
I think Kieran has a couple of big calls to make after last night. Southampton over ran us in midfield until we made our subs. Maybe need to swap Taylor for Luongo to inject some fresh energy. Possibly Hutchinson on the right and Broadhead back in the starting line up. Not quite sure about right back, would probably stick with Tuanzebe with Clarke off the bench depending on how the game is going. |

It does feel like we might need to make more use of the squad, our starting 11 have played a lot of minutes and there have been a few games recently where we have been below our best. Good to see Scarlett, Hutchinson and Harness making a statement and pushing for starting places. Would be good to see more of Taylor, Axel, Humphreys and Ball too. |
 | Forum Reply | Plymouth don't win many away at 09:15 13 Mar 2023
Think we need our noses in front by early April. 4 of their last 5 games are at home and not particularly tough fixtures. I still have a nagging doubt Barnsley will be right in the mix. Their next 3 games are Wycombe (A), Sheff Wed (H) then us. If they do well in those fixtures they will be a huge threat. They are at the top of the form league with ourselves and Sheff Wed. |

A draw I think but I am still concerned about Derby. On a great run and they have 4 home games in Feb and most of their fixtures are against bottom half teams. Only tricky fixture would appear to be away to Barnsley. They are 4 pts behind us with a game in hand. We slip up at all, it easily becomes a 4 horse race, much more unpredictable. |
 | Forum Reply | Keogh and Fridge were solid tonight. at 13:42 25 Jan 2023
Would like to see more of Keogh. A real leader on the pitch and he played some excellent passes out of defence to get attacks going. May need to be used sparingly. His passing would be curtailed by a team that presses high and he may well be exposed against pacy strikers but I thought he made a big difference last night. |

Still pretty positive but I have this nagging doubt that has been growing over the past few weeks. If it is indeed a 3 horse race I would fancy our chances. But Derby and Barnsley are going well at the moment. It it ends up that 4 or 5 teams are fighting for automatic I think it will be a it more of a lottery and you would fancy one of the teams relegated last year to take one of the automatics leaving us fighting for the remaining place. |
 | Forum Thread | Subs today at 13:17 14 Jan 2023
Going to be very interesting to see who the subs are today. Could be a similar first XI as against Portsmouth (illness affected the Lincoln line up more) Walton Donacien, Woolfenden, Burgess Burns, Evans, Morsy, Davis Chaplin, Harness Ladapo Apart from Hladky we have 6 places on the bench with the following presumably available Keogh Edmonson KVY Jackson Edwards Humphreys Ahadme Aluko Leigh Hirst Broadhead Luongo Tough to choose from that group. |
 | Forum Reply | Journo’s releasing info on transfer targets at 20:58 5 Jan 2023
It's a dilemma for the local guys. They want/need to protect their relationship with the club but on the other hand if signings are getting widely reported elsewhere (like Mel Henderson in the Mirror), they can't be seen to be behind the curve. The picture taken in front of a dark stadium would suggest the Luongo signing announcement has been rushed out by the club, probably in response to the widespread speculation it was happening. |
