Ah ok. It's a sad fact. I've only really taken a huge interest in the last 2-3 years (which isn't acceptable at all I know). I'm 29 now and have my considerably better other half to thank for that.

Some turnouts under 60% for example The elderly has a low turnout too. That's the way it'll always be. How many on here at 19 or 20 were as interested in politics as now maybe?

The elderly being 65+ I'd imagine? 78% in 2015 mate, the highest of any bracket.

Re: "How many on here at 19 or 20 were as interested in politics as now maybe?" You make a good point, not many I'd wager. I was more active at that age but that was a product of my environment (Left leaning University course and course-mates, a lot of time on my hands, a lot of ignorance, a lot of drink and drugs).

I might not have been engaged but I still always voted - think I actually voted twice in 2005 as had a postal vote at home and another one at uni somehow. I wasn't able to vote in 2015, not that it matters - but sadly am no longer young.

Young voters. on 10:42 - Jun 8 with 5886 views | Jon_456 | To be fair they're probably fed up of having people bang on about it to them that they must vote for a certain party. Im in the 'young voters' bracket and pretty fed up myself of people saying why you should vote for a certain party. To be perfectly honest if they don't know anything about what they're voting for then it's probably best they don't vote.

I'd say just about, once you get to 28 and move from 'mid-twenties' to 'late-twenties' then you're screwed. When I remember I'm early-thirties it depresses me.

Young voters. on 11:21 - Jun 8 with 5808 views | MarcFowler | I can't understand why people can't take 30 minutes to read through the policies and figure out which one matches the things that they believe in most.. it isn't about personality, it's just about what direction they'll move things towards, and it drives me crazy that some people don't seem interested at all! I'm 26 and married, so I'm out of the 'young voter' bracket now I should say!
