If we were going to go down the director of football/sporting director route I think they'd be more someone in charge of the business side of things than as a coaching mentor, so to speak. I think the question to be asked here is 'would you take Poyet without Taricco?' Not sure how many would be so keen if that was the offering. I remember last time potential managers were discussed someone went on a Brighton forum to ask about Poyet and they said we'd soon get bored of lots of possession consisting of completing a series of short passes without getting near the opposition box, never being able to win a game after going 1-0 down, and Poyet starting to blame everyone but himself when things start going badly.
