I admire you optimism, but Evans will pick a name who has some Premier League and promotion background and wont even know who any of those are, including Nash.

If Mick wen't today our next manager would probably be Gordon Strachan.

Everyone on this forum is always wrong.

I'd argue you did by suggesting him as a possible MM successor. Promising youth coach to manager of a club of Town's size at this level just isn't a realistic career progression for anyone anywhere.

If we were going to go down the director of football/sporting director route I think they'd be more someone in charge of the business side of things than as a coaching mentor, so to speak. Someone doing the deals, sorting the contracts etc, the sort of stuff ME does at the moment. I don't anticipate an appointment along those lines though.

Poyet and Taricco.

Clarke and Stewart.

Harsh, did well enough at Brighton.

And no-one's done well at Sunderland for years - the manager isn't the issue there.

I think the question to be asked here is 'would you take Poyet without Taricco?' Not sure how many would be so keen if that was the offering. I remember last time potential managers were discussed someone went on a Brighton forum to ask about Poyet and they said we'd soon get bored of lots of possession consisting of completing a series of short passes without getting near the opposition box, never being able to win a game after going 1-0 down, and Poyet starting to blame everyone but himself when things start going badly.

Clarke would be my pick from your list.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Right now, I'd even be quite happy with BFJ.

So, would Ipswich be the place for David Moyes to resurrect his career?

Didn't Poyet take a dump in the changing rooms?

Speaking of which it'll be Phil Brown anyways.

Solid if unspectacular career, but seems to have taken to managing like a duck to water.

Who was the dutch bloke we wee linked with earlier in the year?
A bit of dutchness might liven things up for while.

Maurice Steijn. Everything I could find of him and his teams suggested he was more Louis Van Gaal and De Boer in philosophy than the stuff you'd hope for.

Seems like we were just leverage in getting him a contract.

To be honest, after all this endless drudgery, i dont even know what i want anymore.

A vague wish for a young manager who tries new stuff maybe, but beyond that i think i've been in haze since mid-jewell
