Yet more phrases I cannot stand on 12:55 - Jun 7 by hoppy
Was that phrase in a PM from 12th_Man?
No it's a phrase someone I work with uses in meetings when one of his team says too much which will expose his own shortcomings in front of everyone or even when someone is critical of him directly. Of course, he never discusses it offline, it's just 'forgotten'.

Cool Beans - Why? you're adding a word to something already that means the exact same thing, but with less effort
KK - Why? Ok is tried and tested, KK just gives someone opportunity to get a little bit of extra spit onto you with an extra "K" syllable
Caveat - Why? Although this is a word rather than a phrase- it has been flogged to death by obnoxious teens on youtube and other such platforms in an attempt to sound smart. (Only to be ruined later in the video when they chomp down on a laundry tablet)
Challenge - Why? Ok so this is more annoyance of the context it is used rather than the word itself - 'The X Challenge' is my annoyance- in the same breed as the previous paragraph, this has become something the kids find cool beans to create, when usually its stupidly dangerous.
And finally, an actual phrase
Catch you on the flip side - Sorry, but as a youth my needs were adequately met by grunting "see ya" or "Goodbye / Bye" if addressing someone in a formal conversation.

As I understand it, OK is now shortened to 'k' by the kids! All that time it saves!

Does a single syllable really suffice as adequate acknowledgement though? I mean, imagine how impressed the in-laws would be meeting you for the first time if you afforded them the old double syllable power house, they'll be happy you thought them worthy of the extra effort, but at he same time keeping the flob down to a minimum
slightly off topic but we have these team meetings where we have to say what we've been most proud of in the past week. The answer is met by finger-clicks, as applause is considered too threatening. No wonder my retirement countdown clock is permanently on screen.
