Fixtures out a week tomorrow..... 11:22 - Jun 13 with 1641 viewsITFC_Forever

Slightly different twist to it in that the Transfer Window closes before the start of the season now, so there is less transition going on with clubs' squads for the first month.

To that end, I think we'd do well to hope that the bigger fish are saved for later on in the season.....

Think it's different for different clubs. More pressure on the "big spenders" like derby and villa to offload their high earners quickly which won't be easy as everyone knows they have to sell which could bring the price down.

Would be nice for us to start doing business fairly sharpish though before any friendlys. More time to gel the better. If rather face the relegated clubs first to be honest. Still trying to get used to things and they always massively underestimate the championship at first. Newly promoted clubs still on a high are the tricky ones

If anything, we're better off playing the big spenders ad relegated teams early. They're often trying to bed in a lot of new players and/or adjust to playing in the Championship and can be more vulnerable than when they've been playing a few games.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

A lot of Premiership relegated teams take time to adjust as many keep their big time charlies on board and think they will get automatic promotion and will walk the league. The only team i can remember recently who coped well were Newcastle but they spent well on top end championship players.

The teams that yo yo between divisions are the problem ones as they know championship football but also have the benefit of Prem money.

Was pretty ambivalent to Lampard - there were worse, there were better candidates.

I think we appointed a better one.

I'm merely joshing here frevvers, I'm with you on this one. He's got a pretty tricky job at Derby.

Both he and Gerard have been poorly advised as to which clubs to start their managerial careers with.

I wonder how that will affect this league, because the loan window open in EFL until end of the month.

Think the PL will be carnage and then it's just a case of picking the bones out of it.

PL clubs won't be letting players go, they have a shortened pre season due to World Cup and will need to use squad filler/young players in their pre season tours to not rush back WC players.

I imagine there will be a lot of loans with views to permanent, and the dominos won't start falling until the PL window shuts.

Deffo. Gerrard really is on a hiding to nothing at Rangers.
