But still, we're not allowed to look at the league table.

Weird feeling we'll beat Norwich - will judge fully after P11 but jesus what a start.

Jeez.

That's quite enlightening and frightening.

And the club at the bottom has got relegated 62.5% of the time.

Cross all the fingers!

Quite frankly we are currently wearing the eau de toilette de relegation.

Playing decent enough football in spells but can't score. Refereeing decisions going against us. Flukey goals going in. Key injuries. Too many new players needing time to gell or transition to a step up. Selling off your best and most experienced players- which would have given the new players support and taken the pressure off while they make the step up. Years of under-investment in comparison to others in this league. Too many older players who are ineffectual and have been for some time. This is what happens to teams that drop.

Perfect storm right there.

Hopefully PH can spray some sexy Lynx 15th around and get it together but in reality we are going to be in that mix with Rotherham, Reading, Hull and Birmingham, QPR.

If ever there's a season for us all to stick together and battle this out, its this one.

I was a little bit interested in if this was true.

Taking the first 5 games from the 10/11 season, if you were in the relegation spots 5 games in then the chance of you being there come the end of the season was 37.5%.

I will try that again. Do you mean every season from 10/11 onwards, or just 10/11?

Unless you appoint Mick McCarthy obviously.

The club has made a major change of strategy, the playing style has changed radically and is consistent across all playing squads, and a new manager and large number of new players have come in.

In that context, being bottom after five games is hardly surprising.

There is a time when league position becomes more concerning, but whenever that is, it isn't now, and it's not worth agonising about when would be the right time to start agonising either.

I shouldn't think too many people are disappointed with the style of football we're playing now, even if there are areas which aren't quite working right yet. Most of the new players look pretty decent or better. Support at the ground seems happier and more vocal, and the feeling of stagnancy seems to have lifted.

Live for the moment, feel the excitement of the new era, roar the boys on on Sunday, and the results will come.

COME------ON------YOU------BLUES.

Actually the top and bottom of the league is more or less formed after five games. Six of the top eight will almost certainly form the top six and six of the bottom eight will almost certainly form the bottom six. But yes, it counts for nothing right now. It just gives a very strong indication. At present the top ten looks more or less right with Blackburn and Bolotn looking out of place. And Bolton might force their way into the bottom six. Beyond that do you honestly expect much to change?
