Have any of you read the proposals of her 'Green New Deal'? Some of them are decent - public works programmes et al - but others makes me feel very uncomfortable. She proposes to destroy as many industries as she seeks to create, it seems to me. A 'command economy'
And how will these trillion dollar projects be paid for? Who knows - print money is the best guess.
She may be very popular on social media, and with MSNBC, CNN etc., but I suspect she alienates huge chunks of the US population.
But that said, the proportion of the electorate likely to vote for her is growing. If there's another stock market collapse, followed by recession - she's as good as in.

Tbh I know virtually nothing about her. When I was over there I didn’t pay much attention to the domestic politics as Brexit was hitting full stupidity. I didn’t even realise she was a bit of a thing on social media until this thread.
It’ll be interesting to see if people have the balls over there (or here) to trust a strong socialist manifesto. The right have done such a good job of demonising the left that even though most people would admit the current approach isn’t working they seem reluctant to trust a genuine alternative (see Labour’s last manifesto as evidence). It’s so easy to shout it down over claims of unaffordability, despite overlooking that virtually every large Tory/ Republican project is funded on borrowed money. [Post edited 8 Feb 2019 20:08]
