I'm not sure where you get that idea from, or why you are preoccupied with me. But whatever makes you happy.

Like I said earlier, great to see raheem playing so well and bringing his club form to England.

I'll take the whoosh with good grace but it is difficult to tell on here.

In all fairness, Herbers is usually one of our more level-headed posters.

Terry got stick for being a racist. Beckham was a darling aside from the very immediate aftermath of his red card in the World Cup. Rooney's performances were questioned at times but nothing like what Sterling has had. You're totally blind to any form of prejudice in the way only a white male can be.

Terry got stick for shagging his team mates missus
Beckham got sent off in a crucial world cup game and Rooney slated the fans to the camera. Sterling hasn't done any of those things. As for item 3 that he hasn't transferred his form to England, that can be said for just about every player except Darius vassell

It is definitely because he is black, John barnes dealt with the same

I think the stick he gets is mainly from the following;

1. Being very young and rich.
2. Forcing his move to Man City (got some peoples backs up, but was an understandable move).
3. Frustration from England fans that his club form never really translated to England form.

Handles himself well, and seems to have a good attitude. I don't think he gets a lot of stick anymore.

I think the reason people don't see eye to eye is twofold.

On the one hand you had an institutionally racist national media acting spitefully to sell as many newspapers as possible. Their target was Sterling and they were happy to lie to achieve their aims.

On the other hand, Sterling had been poor in front of goal - "Raheem Sterling has scored with five of his past seven shots for England - he had scored with just two of his first 62 efforts at goal for the Three Lions.". Many who felt he should be dropped at the world cup actually wanted Rashford to come in. So when they are getting told they are being racist for critising his form, they obviously think it is nonsense.

The first point is something that is socially constructed via the national media. Many stories about him were proven to be outright lies. Framing of spending money was also another huge issue (eg black footballer buys a house is wreckless, white football is laying a foundation with sensible family investment, etc)

Your second I have no clue.

The third is the camp I was in over the World Cup. Poor performances and a poor return in front of goal. But at the same time, it doesn't help that the national media, with their own agenda, used this as a base point for their other irrational and racially motivated stories.

Finally your last comment is absolutely true. But this is largely because the consensus has switched, because enough people can see that he was wronged. He is very much a turning point in how many view the media. I expect it will be short-lived. The guilty will continue to use ethnic bias to sell newspapers, be it at the front or back of their papers.

He was dreadful during Euro 2016 and the lead up to that tournament, this is acknowledged by Gareth Southgate, "We can't hide from the fact that he's had difficult moments with England and he's turned that full circle.

England supporters criticised him for those reasons, the press may have had an ulterior motive, all those who have criticised Sterling are not racists, this seems to disappoint the whiteplainers.

So you believe that he wasn't poor during Euro 2016?

As a second generation immigrant I can say that your myopic praise for Sterling is itself racist and classic whiteplaining.
