What with all this Boris hysteria... 14:00 - Jun 28 with 6268 viewsSpruceMoose

... I'd been distracted from what a vapid, useless, hollow, disingenuous, lying, inept, sniveling, craven, arselicking, incompetent, unthinking, muppet of a scumbag Hunt was.

So thanks to him for reminding me during the hustings today.

Hunt certainly lives up to his Freudian slip with anyone who has worked for or does work in the NHS and associated industries.

And the other choice is Boris. Or vote them out and end up with Corbyn.

What a shambles of a country we are.

It's incredibly difficult to pick out who is the lesser of two evils between Hunt and Boris.

I don't get the Corbyn hate in this situation.

Johnson is a man who will lead the country into oblivion through not caring for anyone other than himself.

Hunt is a man who will lead the country into oblivion through being thoroughly incompetent.

Corbyn is a man who has good intentions but would probably lead the country into oblivion through dithering whilst trying to decide if what he was doing was the right thing or not.

With all three it's bad, but we know the first two will destroy us. The third one at least only might do and it wouldn't be through malicious intent.

Metaphorically, Corbyn is the bank robber that wouldn't want to hurt the hostages but would probably let them die of dehydration whilst umming and arring over what to do, whilst the other two would just shoot them early doors. If given the choice, surely everyone would take their chances with surviving a bit longer with Corbyn!

These elderly Conservative voters are mad.

"Was he worried about Johnson’s character? “If he was running the country I’d be more worried. But this is about who is the best man to get us out of Europe in the smoothest way possible. But after that he does have to run the country, probably?"

“He’ll have a hard job, but he’s got good people around him,” Bird said. “People like IDS [Iain Duncan Smith] who know what leadership is about. I’m sure Jeremy would help Boris and the other way round.”

It's about time they gave votes weighting.

Some rich old biddy who has a few years left has absolutely no reason to consider the long term effects on the country as a 25 year old in £40,000 worth of debt from getting an education.

Votes for 18-50 should carry 1.2 votes, 40-69 should carry 1.1 votes and 70 and over 1.0 votes. Negligible difference but enough to make it slightly fairer because government changes are as short term as they are long term and nobody with time running out realistically gives a monkeys about what happens in 25 years.

Labour are in opposition to the worst government in living memory and they still can't lay a glove on them... that should say enough on its own.

Then you've got the whole anti-semitism thing which is tearing Labour apart.

A shambles of a government opposed by a shambles of an opposition. Utter w**kers the lot of them.

Our politicians are collectively so bad that we will end up with some sort of "celebrity" populist who is even worse than Johnson. The Americans have managed it.

...why do you want people between 40 and 50 to to have two different values btw?

You really think a single person with no children or assets under 25 years of age should be heard louder than a Grandmother (not a rich old biddie as you say) with assets and a multi generational family?

You think the older person isn't as important even though they also have contributed way more than a younger person?

One person, one vote.

I actually agree with you. The problem for young people is that they don't vote en masse like older people do. They need to become more engaged at the ballot box if they want to counter the disastrous influence older voters in the UK have had.

You would have to have a heart of stpone not to feel a bit of sympathy for poor Doris. Gone are the days when he could ruffle his carefully dyed hair to make himself look a 'character'.

Now it is carefully combed forward is a way that is heading towards a Trump 'creation' if he is not careful. But at least he has changed the colour from what was a 'strawberry blonde' to a sort of 'Andy Warhol' white.

And take a look (below) and wonder who really should have been Foreign Secretary.

A folk wonder why the rest of the world regards him as an embarrassing joke. Stumbling from one failure to another, one cocked up job after another.

I work with around 40 people, mainly 18 - 35. Nearly all of them have opinions politically and almost all are aware of the current culture war (if you like) topics. No more than six of them vote. No joke.
