Now the simplest solutions are clearly the best. Yes, it would work but the game is no longer Football Gutters, it's the business, money generating cash cow in the upper echelons. Lots of simple solutions exist. Kids copy stars, stars swear at refs, kids swear at refs. Players cheat and dive, kids copy. The FA do nothing and the problem remains. At City the other week the bloke who was clearly monkey chanting was no more than 3 yards away from several stewards. They appeared to do nothing. Until it hits clubs where it hurts most --points deductions - little will change. 100k fines mean absolutely nothing to clubs in the top flight. |  |

Not really a solution though. Fans can just go in the home end at norwich and tell racist abuse to get them relegated and vice versa |  |

I actually think racism in wider society has increased since the brexit vote to leave the EU, might be my imagination and it might just be more news worthy now, but you do hear about a lot more of it in recent years. | | | |

It’s thoroughly depressing that it isn’t taken seriously. It needed a European ban for, what, about 4 years or so to get us to take hooliganism seriously. That’s what this needs. That England game the other week should see similar punishments dished out. League clubs with fans like this should be barred from certain competitions or relegated. But money talks. | |
